June 2010 Brides!

Recommended Posts

Hey All,

I noticed every month in 2010 seems to have its own "support" thread except June 2010, so I thought I should remedy this. Just want to know how everyone's planning is going, I am getting so excited - it's crazy how fast the last year has gone.

Hope to hear from others soon - it seems like June is a pretty uncommon month for weddings, it's ok with me - less will be going on at our resort when we are there :).

Congrats on getting your invites out, have you chosen your dress yet? I have mine waiting for me at the bridal salon - can't wait to get alterations (they told me to wait until about 1-2 months before to get the final sizing done).

Has your FI decided what he's going wear?

Hi, I am a June bride as well. Probably not my first choice in months but working in the schools you don't get to choose your vacations and I really wanted to be able to relax and enjoy the wedding without worrying about getting back to work. I can't believe only 5 months left. The time has flown and there is still so much to do. So where are you guys in the planning stage (not sure if I really want to know so I freak out that I don't have anything ready). Good luck with everything and keep me updated on your progress.

Hey everyone,

I did notice that there wasn't a June board too! Thanks for creating one... But I think we're all in the invitations/getting our dresses mode. I have my dress but will wait a little longer to get alterations. I'm planning on taking care of getting invitations printed within the next few days.

Same here, I'm in medical school (so his my FI) so we didn't have much choice, I finish school on May 21 and we leave a week after. Here's hoping for great weather :).

I actually sent out invites a long time ago, in early fall - but that's just because I didn't do STDs. I have been engaged since last Christmas though, so I have had awhile to do everything.

We have the BM dresses, my dress, flowers all ready to go. I have also purchased BM gifts (mostly). I made a guestbook using our engagement photos...My biggest concern right now is trying to nail down a definite number so I can work on my favors and such. I also plan to do a few DIY projects but I'm going to rely a lot on what the resort provides.

Hello fellow June brides. I too am getting married in June at the Dreams Resort in Cancun. June 8th is the wedding day. I'm so excited I can hardly stand it.

I have been working on the OOT bags, sent out our STD's (we aren't doing formal invites in addition to the STD's), guestbook has been started, welcome books, bookmarks, pre-travel brochures, pre-travel CD's and luggage tags will be sent out to those that have booked already this week.

I feel like there is sooo much more to do and time is going to go so fast! I can't wait! I look forward to hearing from the rest of you as the time gets closer!

Ha ha. Reading all the posts makes me feel alternately calm because I'm at the same stage as others, but then nervous for being behind.

I'm glad to be finished with the invitations, but we've already been talking to a lot of our guests since we plan on booking their airline and hotel ourselves.

We're pretty non-traditional and not too worried about a lot of the details. Luckily, I do have my dress, but only because it's something I already had in my closet. I've known for a long time that I didn't want to wear a traditional wedding gown. I just need to have it taken in slightly.

FI will be wearing khaki shorts and ivory button down, short sleeve shirt, but we have to wait until warm weather clothes show up in the stores here in the Mid-Atlantic U.S. Same for girls' shopping trip with my sister (BM), my mom and FMIL.

I've been working on collecting ideas for our ceremony script (FI's longtime friend will be officiating) and for OOT bags.

I think the next thing will be to start thinking about rings.

I'm so impressed with some of your DIY lists. I just barely managed to do the invitations without losing my sanity ;-)

Thanks sjmacphe for starting this thread!

I'm getting married on June 12 at the Gran Bahia Principe Tulum in Mexico... I cannot wait! June is definitely not my first choice either because oddly I can't stand to be hot! But being from Wisconsin I'd definitely take it over the snow/cold we've got going on right now.

I've got my dress and am working on getting my invites out... they're DIY so I'm about half way done... really need to get them out in the next week or 2.

FI and I jsut went shopping to pick out his outfit this past weekend... he's wearing a plain white oxford with a tan dress pant... will probably roll the sleeves.. he's also going to wear a fuschia/orange tie if I can find one. We also went ring shopping for his band... and found one that he likes and it's a steal - so I'm really happy about that!

Next on my list is the OOT bags... even the thought of that is overwhelming... but exciting too!

June can't come quick enough but will be here before we all know it!! YEAH!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
