June 2010 Brides!

Recommended Posts

Wow -- can we start packing yet? I find Wedding stuff gathering all over my apartment, and I just want to be on the beach right now!

What sort of esthetic things are you going before you go? I booked a nail appointment, and I'm debating getting some waxing done. But I should also re-dye my hair.

Lots of logistics to worry about! Are you all excited?

Same here.. my house has wedding stuff in bags and boxes in just about every corner! It's getting out of control - I just can't wait to pack it all up and get on the plane!

I'm also worried about how much luggage I'll have to bring... I have no idea how to guess and I don't want to pack up my towels just yet because I don't want them to be completely flattened/squished from being packed up for so long!

I'm getting a pedicure the day before we leave and a hair cut on the 22nd (same day as my bachelorette) also having my hair trial that day. I need to get a manicure but not sure if I should wait and do that once in mexico or not. I should probably color my hair too but that's last on my list since everything is getting so expensive!

26 days til I leave!!!

  • 2 weeks later...

I was thinking the same thing!! Next week you are so lucky!!!! I would be packed already lol.

Where is everyone getting married? I'm getting married at the Grand Palladium Punta Cana on June 28!! We leave on June 22. Is anyone getting legally married before they go?

I actually didn't plan too much - the point for me was to have an amazing day as simple as posisble -- that said, I did order mugs/bags with our logo and date on it as favors!

My to do list:

- Make a boutenniere for my dad (I want to make one that is different from everyone else)

- Find a shell and starfish to make my own ring bearer holder

- Buy some "real" looking petals for the aisle

I'm at a dead end with these though -- I am not sure where to begin! lol

Hi, for my ring bearer, i also used a sea shell. I dont know the name of the shell but the outer portion is blackish (and rugged) and the inside is bluish and iradescent. well, along side the shell there are very small holes that I strung some ribbon through and the rings will be tied to it. I bought the shell at Michaels for $6.99 (and 40%off). If you send me your email i can fwd you a pic.

I leave in 2 weeks!! AHHH! I am doing the legal part before we go... a week from Friday already. I can't believe it's all so close. I had my bachelorette party last weekend and my shower is on Sunday.

I still have to finish up a few things:

OOT bag welcome letters (starting to wonder if I'm making too much work for myself)

Book our excursions (the fun stuff!)

Finish my programs

Finalize ceremony music & burn the CD

Finalize our sand ceremony reading

Write/find vows (yikes, just found out we can bring our own)

Pack!!!

I'm still waiting for my boudoir book to be finished... this is also making me nervous since I absolutely MUST give it to my FI in time!

Oh and I'm getting married at the Gran Bahia Principe -Tulum... just south of Playa Del Carmen in the Riviera Maya Mexico. I hear it's sweltering hot lately.. not sure what I was thinking! Other than the wedding day I plan to be in or near water at all times!

Pandabride6 - how are you holding up being this close to your big day... are you overwhelmed with excitement too?!

You know, I'm actually holding up pretty well... I did notice that my mind isn't on work so much these days, lol.

We've been planning for so long, I just want it to happen already!

Question for you guys... how will you handle the phone situtation while you're overseas? I know we'll need to keep in contact with guests.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
