Murmel-Well congrats on the closing. That's exciting that you got your dress! :) Have you had a chance to try it on? Let see some pics lady!!!

I am pretty much open except the weekend of Nov 5th as I am having laser eye surgery, November 14th(taking my cousing to see my psychic as her birthday gift), November 19th(cousins actual b-day dinner) and November 27th(work christmas party)!  There are a few GTA girls in my April 2011 thread. Did you have a specific date in mind?

November 5 is my bridal shower! I was thinking dinner mid-week might be easier , but no set date yet. Got my dress a little while ago, now just getting it fitted, so I will post pictures once it looks right! Looks like you have quite the busy November. I'll try and look at dates and post a new thread this week sometime.

I know every bride on this forum says the same thing, but I just CANNOT believe how fast time is going by!  ... Less than three months to go!

I've been incredibly busy career-wise, leaving me very little time to get wedding tasks accomplished!

So let's see, what can I tell ya guys . . .

Last night FI and I went for our first dancing lesson!  I am NOT very coordinated at all, so I was a little nervous, but to my surprise, we both thoroughly enjoyed it!    We don't want to learn anything too showy, but we just want to learn a few moves so that we're not rocking back and forth for four straight minutes during our first dance!!  It was such a blast, and in just 50 minutes, we learned to waltz, hustle and merengue! The instructor  claims we're naturals, but I'm sure she tells every couple that since they work off commisssion wink.gif

Today I picked my dress up from the seamstress!!  After five fittings, it's finally done and in my closet!!  Remember all that drama about that wacky seamstress saying it'll never fit me right? Boy was she wrong . . . It looks perfect -- well, at least think so ! :)

I also need to update my profile on here because we know have over 50 people booked!!! YAY!

What else?  ..... OH!  I need to go lingerie shopping for my boudoir photo shoot!!   I need to book a session by next month to have time to get a book printed! Anyone else doing one?

Enough about me , hope you lovely ladies are getting along well in your wedding plans!

Welcome back Tara :-) Long time no see!! Great to hear everything youve been up.... FIVE fittings!!!

WOW :-) I bet you look drop dead gorgeous x

Over 50 people with ya 2, thats great.... x

I actually got my FI to go to Latin ballroom last year, long before we were engaged. I told him it was something fun we could do together that was active and indoors. I hate the cold so I wouldn't do anything outdoors. At first he was reluctant, but after realizing it was fun and a workout he enjoyed going. I know we could use a refresher now, so maybe I'll have to contact our instructor again. We did it through the city recreation center so it was only $60 each for 10 weeks. That was the other thing that persuaded him to go, it was cheap.

Nicola,

Men, most of them, are very rational and logical beings (except when it comes to their male pals, sports, music...and hobbies).  As long as you can come up with good and logical reasons, they will say yes.

For dancing, the best reason is 1) do smth together! and if we both like it, we can do it for a long time or until one of us getting too old to walk.

Guys you should come and live in spain, your taxes are paid for you by your boss as part of your contract, Healthcare is free and awesome, the sun is usually shining and you´re SUPPOSED to sleep in the afternoon!

Girls.... are you aware that unemployment rate in Spain reaches 20% OF THE TOTAL WORKING FORCE??? I don´t think it´s a good option right now... .Your boss pays the taxes he/she deducts from your pay cheque, and also deducts your health care.

Nan,

Like in Canada, a lot of people in Spain work "under" the table.  On the beach at Barcelona, all those masseuses and good looking couples selling Mojitoes for 10 euros per pop are probably part of the 20% unemployed too.  The real figure is much less than 20%.  Plus, it was way way higher than 20% in the 90s.

It is true that the real estate sector is still crashing, and they still have a few billions of debt need to rollover in the next 3 years.  Therefore, Banco Santander will not hire me even I want to move there.sad.gif

However, compared to the PIG countries (Portugual, Ireland and Greece), Spain is very ok.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
