Sure, do u know any good tattoo artist in Phuket? My FI is somehow into tattoos, and he really wants a 3rd one before he becomes a dad ( don't ask me why...I never get this part...but hey, I guess it is like he never figure why I spent so much time on this forum or flipping wedding magazines).
Sorry, I have no tattoo experience. I'm too afraid of needles to get one or even watch a friend get one, haha. But I do know that the Thais are famous for their bamboo tattoos... if your fiance has a really high pain tolerance and wants a unique tattoo. I had friends talk about getting one while we were there, but they never ended up doing it. It's the ancient Thai way of doing tattoos, and traditionally they're done by monks in the temples. They're supposed to be much more painful than tattoos with needles. I just googled quickly and found this description of it: Bamboo Tattoo | History

wow i had a lot of pages to catch up with... My Scarlett was poorly last night. Being sick all night so feeling very tired today and it's raining out so feeling blue.... hopefully tomorrow will be a brighter day :o)

You girlies going on a honeymoon are sooooooooooo lucky! It's costing quite a bit going to Mexico for 2wk's from the UK and then the AHR so we wont have a honeymoon. Plus we have children.....

I think we may book a long weekend away a few months after the wedding and get mum to stay with the kids, just so we have some time on our own. But we'll see what happens...

Linhy - I can't believe how much you have done! wow. I feel behind!

I have got my dress and booked the AHR and that's it! We need to book Mexico, wedding bands, bridesmaid dresses, shoes, groom outfit, invites, OOT bags.....lots to do, but i'm feeling quite relaxed about it but then i do have over a yr still to plan!

OMG I am in the EXACT same situation. I booked the Lindo for our 01/22/11 wedding and paid the deposit to secure our date based on an estimate our TA gave of around 1596pp for a week.

Well, as of today, the "rack rate" is $2139!! I know she said estimate, but $500-600 more?!

I contacted a diff TA who specializes in DWs and it was explained to me that Iberostar resorts have not negotiated their 2011 contracts with tour operators (such as Apple, Funjet, etc) yet and that they will do so ANY DAY NOW. As soon as they do, the rates should go down.

This may be the case for you girls too -- hope so!

To add insult to injury, my sister's coworker informed her today that she'd been to the Iberostar Paraiso Lindo recently and she told her that she thought $1500 for a week "sounded high" LOL. At this point I would welcome 1500 with open arms!

I made the mistake of opening my fat mouth and telling a few friends & family members that it should be in the neighborhood of 1500 plus or a minus a few hundred $. Whoops doh.gif
Lol...I think we are on the same page. I told people who asked "Oh, it should be no more than $1700 pp for 7 nights, with flight...hopefully closer to $1500!" and now I am EATING my words. I sent invites out two weeks ago (I know, super early) and people are already kinda freaking out about the prices. It's hard to convince them that prices SHOULD go down in summer time, when I don't know for sure that they will, or how much!

My TA said the specials will come out in summer, and at that point we can lock in the lower rate. If all else fails, I can always switch to a different, less expensive resort. Luckily my room deposits will transfer, but the wedding deposit won't. I'll just have to wait and see!! This is the most frustrating thing so far!

Thank you very much!! just resent an email.

I already put down a deposit for my wedding to secure my date, gazebo and beach for reception. However, I will book my trip 4-6 months before wedding, I usually book my trips from a website, where I can see the price of the same resort up to 8 month and show up to 8 weeks on the same page...so I can really track the evolution of the prices.

My FI was like the last thing for me to do is to "plot the prices on a chart" and start doing a technical analysis..and come up with a forecast and issue a research report.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
