I see a lot of you guys are also May 2011 brides...is anyone waiting for airfare prices to come out before you pick a place? FI thinks we should wait until we can get more concrete numbers for a flight/room package, but I don't want to wait that long to decide on a resort......

I've also got my eye on a Maggie dress :

RD1044 - by Maggie Sottero

Still have to find a place that carries it to try it on...I feel so behind, you guys are so on top of things!

Hi all! I am also a May 2011 bride. We are hoping for Memorial Day weekend, so because it's a holiday weekend we are trying to get our resort booked asap. We've been researching for a couple of months now - SO frustrating! (It has to allow kids due to young cousins, but we don't want a resort filled with kids. We don't want to get married on the beach, and with 70-80 guests a lot of resorts don't have many other options. And we want a beautiful beach. This caused a lot of our initial choices to be crossed off!)

However, we have finally narrowed it down to our "top two": Ceiba del Mar and Dreams Riviera Cancun. They're totally different, but we like them each for different reasons. Now our planner is in the negotiation phase. Fingers crossed we get one booked soon:)

Kurlyks - that dress is stunning, love it! I've gone for Ambrosia. I know it's a big dress but i'm in love with it and i'm hoping as i'll wear a hoop with it i will have a little room for breeze ha ha ;o)

Good luck Nicyx with your creative side today :o)

I love a bit of DIY. I made our engagement party invites and loved doing them!

I was looking at wedding table etiquette yesterday. M.I.L is not gonna like the fact she is not sitting next to her son! opps!

michelle2011- I just looked up ambrosia and it's gorgeous!! It looks like it would be super flattering too.

I definitely need to spend some more time on here to steal everyone's creative ideas....my sister asked me yesterday what my colors were and I said "um...it'll be colorful" I don't think I have the wedding gene...

welcome fivecents!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
