Any 2011 Brides out there?

welcome back Mexbride!

It must be weird (eye-opening) experience to goto an underfed country when you are from an overfed country!

Nice shoes! and BM dresses!  I will wait for the Spring when everyone is done with their ho ho ho holiday weight gain and loss before getting the bridal party outfits!  I learnt that from my friend who got an overfed BM who couldnt zip up her BM dress 2 weeks before the weddingoops.gif!

Haha that poor girl! I'm not too worried about my bridesmaids, they've all pretty much been the same size for all the years I've known them. Their weights don't really fluctuate. Except my MOH who is 8 months pregnant right now! But she just got a huge size and is having it altered in the spring. Malawi was an incredible experience. Though I work in international nutrition, so I've been to many developing countries and have seen the worst many times, unfortunately:( I love what I do though, and always feel a great sense of accomplishment at the end of a contract!

DiamondGirl - Thank you! So do I:) I wear them around the house all the time hahaha.

Hi everyone!

I've been a member (and huge fan) of this forum for about a year now, and I figured it was time to actually say "hi!"  I'm getting married on February 5, 2011 at The Royal PDC...definitely coming up, and I still can't believe it!

It IS impossible to lose any weight right now!  I'm just hoping I can get really serious about dieting in January right before the wedding.  I only want to lose another 5 pounds or so (assuming I don't GAIN anything in the next couple of weeks! =P), so I'm hoping that I can pull it off.

Nice to "meet" you all!

Mexbride,

it always feels great when u are doing smth that can make a difference!

Smille50,

You should ask Mexbride, since she is an expert in nutrition.  You are right! Holiday is a challenge, I am in charge of the food this year, when I look at the menu...errrr...it doesn't look like anything for anyone who wants to be on diet! lol.  Except for my mom, everyone in my family are under-weight, so we tend eat until we get bellied up! lol

I can give plenty of good dieting advice, but as I write it I would be on my 30th snickerdoodle cookie of the day haha. Even nutritionists can't resist holiday treats!! My best advice during the holidays is to just work out more. I've increased my workouts to feel better about the increase in yummy food I've been taking in.

Oh, and a very interesting fact for all of you... my thesis research is on breakfast, and there is overwhelming proof that people who skip breakfast are more likely to be overweight! Your metabolism doesn't really kick in until you eat. So if you wait till noon to eat, you've missed out on hours of calorie burning that would happen if you just ate something. There is also overwhelming evidence of breakfast consumption increasing short-term memory, attention, and overall mood (note: these effects occur only if you have complex carbs for breakfast - so eat high-fiber cereal, whole wheat toast, or something along those lines). So everyone should make sure they never miss breakfast!:)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
