It is funny, in the mid 90s, US people used to come to Canada and shop!  However, with the way the US economy is going, I think you will see more bad drivers on your side!...LOL

The reason we don't drive properly is in some provinces, people can't turn right when the light is RED (now you know why some cars wouldn't turn right, when they should turn right!).  Plus, our population including the polar bears...is only 1/10 of the US population with approx. same land size, so of course there isn't that much traffic.  We have a TV show here called the WORST driver, so I guess you are totally right on our driving skill!

Hmm....the harsh winter could be a deal breaker, but I can't imagine it was much worse than the one we had last year.  As for the taxes, you get what you pay for.  Our taxes may be lower, but the quality of services may be as well.  And I have never been to an ER without a very long wait

Thx, but I don't like to work with people anymore, so tour guide isn't for me.

The Coba one is the only one that they still allow people to climb, and it is taller than the Chicken Pizza one.  The thing is these pyramids are very steep (Mayans were pretty fit in the ancient time), so it is difficult to come down after the climb.  My guess is some dumbos got injured, and that is why they no longer allow people to climb on the pyramid.

To make to clear on what I mean by a clean cenote to swim in, and the one that the Mayans used to dump drunk people in to feed ther gods..

The first pic is the Mayan Sacrifice cenote, they make people drunk, hit them hard in the head to knock them out (all the skeleton they found in that cenote had head fractures)...and then..dump them into the cenote...no struggle and painless death as people would just grooogrooo into the water! lol

The second pic is a clean and fresh cenote with fishes in a rainy day.

Nicola:

I love the way you answer  to all our posts.... You organize everything so well. I just don´t seem to get the hang of it. Sometimes when I,ve finished writing my reply.... I try adding a smiley and Woops everything gets deleted!!!!!!!! ARGH!!! and I have to start all over again. needless to say... I write a shorter note than I intended in my first try (dumb ME)

Bonnie:

You Canuck!!! Ok so are getting married n July 4th ... Not for patriotic reasons.. but I love it that you will be signing FEB 14!!!! How romantic!! A coincidence??

Regarding the Chichen Itza tour thank you for the pictures. These places are really appealing to me and I wish I could go there for the sun ceremony one day!

I understand that you can´t climb the main pyramid now to protect the Pyramid itself. Who knows what the real reason is.

I went there some years ago and we climbed all the way to the top. The view was breathtaking! and then we visited a small "cave" where we could see a Jaguar with jade eyes which I also loved. The only problem was how hot and steamy that little place was!!! Water water wate please!!!

I won´t add a smiley because I´ve written a lot and I don´t want to start again.. hahaha

HELLO LADIES!!!   I know, I KNOW, I've been completely MIA!!

I know every bride on this forum says the same thing, but I just CANNOT believe how fast time is going by!  ... Less than three months to go!

I've been incredibly busy career-wise, leaving me very little time to get wedding tasks accomplished!

So let's see, what can I tell ya guys . . .

Last night FI and I went for our first dancing lesson!  I am NOT very coordinated at all, so I was a little nervous, but to my surprise, we both thoroughly enjoyed it!    We don't want to learn anything too showy, but we just want to learn a few moves so that we're not rocking back and forth for four straight minutes during our first dance!!  It was such a blast, and in just 50 minutes, we learned to waltz, hustle and merengue! The instructor  claims we're naturals, but I'm sure she tells every couple that since they work off commisssion wink.gif

Today I picked my dress up from the seamstress!!  After five fittings, it's finally done and in my closet!!  Remember all that drama about that wacky seamstress saying it'll never fit me right? Boy was she wrong . . . It looks perfect -- well, at least think so ! :)

I also need to update my profile on here because we know have over 50 people booked!!! YAY!

What else?  ..... OH!  I need to go lingerie shopping for my boudoir photo shoot!!   I need to book a session by next month to have time to get a book printed! Anyone else doing one?

Enough about me , hope you lovely ladies are getting along well in your wedding plans!

Jenn, you are spot on about the taxes! I pay almost the same amount of taxes in Sweden as I do here, but get nothing for it here.

Bonnie, yes, Sweden is a lot more like Canada than the US, only difference are universities are FREE! Hahaha! Oh, and we get an allowance for every child every month, allowance while in uni. and free food in schools, 1.5 yr of mat leave and 6 months of paternity leave etc.etc.etc. We laugh about the US as well, with the exception of Obama. I think they were celebrating more in Sweden (and the rest of Western Europe) when he became the President than people did here. We also laugh about our neighbor Norway and they laugh about us, so same story as the US & Canada.

All in all, every country has its good and bad sides of course.

Welcome Greysgirls!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
