I wasn't allowed to do any of the planning, the girls did it all. Which was hard for me...since I am a bit of a control freak. :) But I had an amazing time, and got to spend time with some of my friends which came from quite a distance to help celebrate. Is the Hen night a British name for the stagette? or more like a shower? I am sure we can help you with ideas if you need to plan it!

"Hen" nights are more of a stagette, friends get to gether for the night/weekend.... depends what you like really, Something like Friday day go for shopping then have a nice tea somewhere then saturday day ????? then saturday night go on a big Pi** up, sunday recover :-) I just cant decide what to do and where to go yet... you ladies will be the first to know when i get something planned though :-) I hope i get to lend a hand in organising though as im like you sometimes a bit of a control freak... lol xox

ha ha girls i am the same i like control of the wedding although it has been hinted things are going on behind my back. So looking forward to some surprises along the way... My hen is booked which my sis (MOH) organised and i have helped collect deposits etc so have sort of been involved. We are going to a spa hotel for the day having treatments, hanging out, lunch, getting glamed up for dinner then off to a club to dance the night away. Back to the hotel and a lovely brekkie in the morning and then shopping on the sunday :o) i can't wait! Then i am having a mini hen in Mexico to Coco Bongos whoop!! x

I have no clue as to what my bachlorette is going to be, or consist of.

I have asked for no Jack and Jill, as the guests are paying enough to come. We are also putting in the invitations that the only gift we want is for everyone to come. We are not wanting any wedding gifts, once again because of the cost of going.

as for a bridal shower, i am sure my mom will put something together.

Yes we feel the same and are just requesting the pleasure of their company and no gifts. (my guess is they will buy anyway but it makes us feel better asking for none :o)

Sounds like a lot of fun....we had great plans to go hiking on Saturday (the day after the party), but that didn't happen- was still recovering! haa haa

Love the spa idea :)

I agree. We are also asking everyone to not bring gifts! (plus we have too much stuff in the house as it is. We both lived alone, so when I moved in, we had double of everything.)

FI mom and sister are planning a little shower for me in November. But since I don't want people spending a lot of money, we have agreed to make it a 'wine and sexy underwear' shower. Looking forward to seeing a lot of the family at the shower, since they were unable to attend the stagette.

I second that...but agree with you, there will always be those that bring something. I just really hope they don't bring anything heavy. Not sure how we would get it home. LOL

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
