Recommended Posts

Arrrr, what a lovely story nan :-) x

We went out for a chinese on just a normal night, but it turned out to be a very special night..... half way through evening i went the loo (as you do) and thought, when i get back im going to ask him to marry me!!!

So i was shitting myself, went back to him and just looked at him.... i was so so scared, and that was probably more to do with the fact that what i was going to do after only being together for 3 months and 1 week..... (We got together on July 27th 2001... this was Nov 4th 2001)

Then i as sat there and i just though "F... it, why not"...

Anyway i just smiled and said "Will you marry me?" he was like "yeah, i will"    love.gif

And the rest as they say is history!!!!! :-)

xoxo

Barbiegirl....that's awesome that you booked your trip! It was a huge relief for me and you actually do feel like your blood pressure drops a few points. haha  We have 45 booked now which is great!! However, there is always some stress lurking around when planning a wedding I guess. I have 6 bridesmaids and only 2 of them are booked!!! They should be the first ones booked but they are waiting to see if they can get better prices OR they want a new car or new furniture. I am so PISSED!! I'm paying for their dresses, so basically I'm just telling if I don't have a booking number by the time I order the dresses the first week of November than I'm not ordering their dress. There is only flight that leaves out of Halifax on our date and we're filling up the plane quickly. I'm sure other people are going to Mexico too! haha   My only source of stress right now is from the people who are supposed to keep me calm. I haven't asked them to do a damn thing yet and they have already known that they were standing for me for one full year by the time I order the dresses. GGRRR!!!!

On a happier note (hehe)......I hate getting my pic taken but we had a wonderful time getting our engagement pics done and she did a great job. We actually used one of our pics as our STD. We printed it off as a magnet with our website on it. Everyone really liked them. I don't really know how to insert a picture on here so if you want to check out our website our engagement pics are on there. haha

Our website is www.taraanddave.wedsite.com.  I must say this was also a GREAT thing to do. I post our updates on it all the time and we made a facebook page to try and keep everyone in the loop, especially getting people on board to book their trips.

I am so excited to actually start planning the wedding!! I feel a little stressed sometimes when I see how much people have done. I find I am in wedding mode for a few weeks than I get busy with life in general and than I get in wedding mode again. hahaha

I can't believe it's only 6 1/2 months till I get married!! Crazy!

Abbie32!! Yes we're booked and it's such relief. we didn't get a good deal at all....in fact we ended up paying almost $1000 more than we had anticipated the prices to be, but in the end we were down to the one flight out of here on the Saturday, so there really wasn't a choice. The longer we waited the more we risked the price going up!

Oh people can be such a stress....we had one couple here who have been bugging me to book, and I kept telling them to wait (hoping the price would go down). I sent out an email a week before we booked saying I'd found a pretty good deal with Air Canada and we were ready to book, what did everyone think.....Not a soul replied to me. And then the flight disappeared. We booked, and told everyone here to book (luckily there are only 8 of us from here going) IMMEDIATELY for fear that this flight would be full. Did this couple book? NOPE! They waited until yesterday. Seriously! Anyways, they are booked now, which is good b/c it's the Best Man and his g/f.

Omg I can't believe how many you have booked! That's incredible! You know, if your girls aren't booked by the time you need to order their dresses, then that's their problem. That's the last thing you need to stress about. And the thing is if they aren't coming, they should just "man" up and tell you. I've been going through something with my 2 "best" friends....although I had held off asking them to be in the wedding b/c I had this feeling right from the start that they wouldn't come. They decided to throw a bunch of excuses at me a couple months ago as to why they may not make it, and I have not heard from either one since. I've decided the best thing I can do is just let it go. I can't dwell on this, there's too much else going on!

I'm excited to check out your pics (i'll have to do it when I get home, since my work computer is being a bit weird atm). We booked Applehead Studios, and I'm super excited to work with him. He may also be doing our wedding which will be amazing....it completely blows the budget but it'll be worth it!

Don't worry it'll all come together.....there's actually quite a bit I am still wanting to do, but am waiting till we know final numbers....so the last month before is going to be hectic I'm sure. Only 4 1/2 months to go!!!

Hi!! I was just reading through the posts on here and realised we have the same wedding date as you! April 6, 2011 Mayan Riviera! We are getting married at the Iberostar Resort but we were actually at Bahia Principe Tulum for a destination wedding this past January. Looks like you already have everything under control and you have an amazing number of people booked! We haven't even got our invitations out yet. Its not really that big of a deal because everyone knows when we're getting married and where so they know its coming. The prices you are getting from halifax are also much better than what I am getting at this point to fly out of Vancouver. We are looking at $1700/person if we book right now. Hopefully the prices will get better in the next month or so. I can't wait to be able to breath a big sigh of relief as people start to book and things star coming together!

Hi Nicyx,

We are getting married at the Iberostar Paraiso Beach in an effort to make it more affordable for our guests. We also have some children coming so we couldn't do it at an adults-only resort.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
