Hello 2011 brides,

Time is flying by!  I only have 6 months to go!  I have been MIA but I will be back in the swing of things here very soon!  I wanted to ask you all where are your grooms getting there suits?  FI asked me about earlier and didn't have the slightest Idea.  Suggestions....

How exciting!  When in 2011 are you having your wedding? I have around less then 5 month to go and I need to lose weight.  I feel like I keep on putting on more. I don't know what to do.  No one really understands what wedding planning is like until they go through theirs.

I know a lot of grooms get there suits at express, banana, Jcrew, nordstorms, depends on the look he wants and quality.  You can get nice suits

at express. I think for men it's so much easier for them to find suits anywhere.

Tara/Lindobride - LOVE The Make-up; it is exactly what I was trying to find to show my make-up artist so Thank you!

Ladies I bought my dress on Sat! It was the second time I tried it on and I really fell in love with it. It fits great and if I can just tone up a little I will be good to go!

Here is a teaserDress 26 small.jpg

Beautiful dress, Maggie!  I love lace!  And I love how fitted it is -- it gives you a great hour-glass shape.

Glad you liked the makeup.  I am very particular with makeup so I was having a really hard time finding pictures I liked as well.  Glad I could help!

What resort are you getting married at?  I hate that we cant see wedding date and location anymore!

Pitt-  Sorry I just noticed your post on this page.  I'm not too good at the new format either!

I think I answered a lot of your questions in my long post on the Ibersotar thread, but yes, the Italian is SOOO pretty!  I'm so sad we're not having it there.   It came down to food for us, and I liked the surf and turf many offered by the Lindo better :(

I must admit I'm still second guessing myself because I love that restaurant for a reception venue.  What dinner options did you go with, the tenderloin?

My meeting with Ivan went well.  he didn't show up for our scheduled time and I was waiting around for 45 minutes in the lobby which was frustrating, but then I found out it was because his daughter was in the emergency room for an asthma attack  (understandable) So we rescheduled for the next morning and I met with him literally a half hour before we left for the airport for our trip home.  If you go to his blog, you'll see some pics he's done at the Iberostars.  I would highly reccomend him.  He does a great job and a great pricetag to match.

Now the florist.  I will post my inspiration pic  for the bouquet and then the sample he made based off of that.

Here's my inspiration pic:  I wanted to substitute hot pink for the yellow orchids since my colors are hot pink and coral.

and here's the one he did:

DSCF5086.JPG

As you can see, he used about 12-15 orange roses and about 5 green cymbidium orchids.  (the one pink phalaenopsis was added just for the picture)

I told him I wanted less roses and more orchids.  So my finished bouquet will have 8 coral roses  (as opposed to orange)  8 green cymbidium orchids and 8 fuschia phalaenopsis orchids.

So as you can see they do their best to replicate your inspiration pic, but they are open to make any changes you want.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Your hair and makeup look lovely. Glad to hear that everything went well. How did your meetings go with the florist and Ivan Luckie? Do you have any pics of some of the flowers? Which ones did you go with? I am considering booking Ivan Luckie as my photographer and was just wondering how your meeting went?

I also read on the Iberostar thread that you were considering going with the Del Mar because of the Italian restaurant. Thats where we are having our reception! Isn't it soooo pretty! Are you switching resorts?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
