I just got a call from my TA. I had e-mailed him because another bride (on the Azul Sensatori thread) had said that the weekend of her wedding was already fully booked. Her wedding is in March; mine is in January. So of course I freaked thinking if her weekend was booked, mine was certainly booked! My TA called and said that ALL weekends in 2011 are booked, and that this is because Azul Beach is doing renovations/construction in 2011. Apparently, pretty serious construction. At this point, my TA didn't know if it would be going on during my wedding or after, but there's a very good chance it will be.

So...long story short...I may have to change resorts! Aaaack!
Oh no you poor thing! I would be stressing if it were me. That is SO wrong they are not informing ppl. I would be so upset if i had to move resorts now. The sensatori does look fab though. It was one on our short list and i agree if you have to move then they should accommodate you in a BIG way!!!! You go girl!! I would have a right bridezilla moment ha ha... On a serious note i really hope it all works out OK x

Nicy that is so funny. Not found any yet but i do love a shoe shop so watch this space hee hee!

I am all fake tanned out for my girls weekend away this weekend (friends birthday) no doubt it will be very messy....let the vodka celebrations commence! ha ha

Worse comes to worst, I'll just book elsewhere. We only had 4 rooms booked thus far, anyway...and I've been assured we'll get all of our money back if we have to switch resorts :)
Well that's a relief then IF you do have to switch! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that it all works out for the best!

Thanks lovies for all the support!!! I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have all you fantastic ladies to vent to!

Michelle...you rawk that fake tan all over town girl! If your June has been anything like ours, a fake tan is definitely necessary. I haven't really seen the sun all month!

I have no idea why this wasn't brought up when booking. My TA wasn't informed of this until I pointed it out to him...so it's not like they're even telling the people who are already booked!!! I knew there might be some minor construction, but it's sounding like they're doing a major revamp of all the rooms as well.

So, I may have to move to the Sensatori...which sounds wonderful as well. I'm hoping that if that's the case, we get a HELLUVA deal on our rooms because of the situation. Silver linings!!!
Ugh, quite the conundrum! Keep your chin up, lady :) And demand some damn compensation! LOL

Good thing for the forum, because who knows when you'd have found out otherwise -- probably when a bunch more were booked, making it much more difficult to move you all.

I hear both resorts are wonderful though. I think Sensatori is a bit more expensive than Azul Beach, so perhaps your guests will be able to stay at Sensatori for the price of AB. chaching!

My TA Nanda from Beach Bum used to work for Karisma and has nothing but good things to say about their resorts. :) If you ever decide you're unhappy with your TA, I am sure that, having worked for them, Nanda would be able to majorly pull some strings. Just sayin . . .

That dress is freakin' STUNNING! Love it!

I hear ya on the tummy issues. Except I have a nice layer of padding ALL OVER. I could practically fly to Mexico on my massive arm-wings...haha.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
