Any 2011 Brides out there?

Welcome along - KLC52379.

Just been catching up on everyones posts from the last few days......

Thanks for the photographers list Kerry very helpful - i know i am on a budget but some of the prices are absolutely ridiculous! I bet they have even gone up in price now.

I am torn on the photos at FIs dad is a photographer but we dont want to have to rely on him so i may opt for the hotels photographer even if i get 40 photos im sure i can pick 40 out of the 100s they take despite some not so great reviews. I just dont want to spend out £££££s on photos that will sit in a cupboard somewhere as we would only have a few on show as Michelle says. I think it really depends on what you want out of your wedding.

With regards to the script i have seen the one i have and its not quite the same as the one posted on here but its not far off - i think they have to read the legal part in Spanish and the WC translates - then you can add your own bits in later - but only if the registar agrees if you are having the legal ceremony. (This is my understanding anyways).

Nicy & Michelle - love those shoes - i may just get a pair - not for the wedding - lol! One thing i would bear in mind is jewelled shoes that are not specifically wedding shoes can catch on the dress and tear / snag the fabric as the jewels on wedding shoes are all rounded off. This happened to one of my friends she was warned by the bridal shop but thought they were just trying to get her to buy their shoes - she went and got some shoes from JOhn Lewis and they did infact snag the fabric all around the bottom of the dress and kept getting caught up all day.

Good point about the shoes i'm hoping i'll be OK with mine as i have a big skirt and i'm wearing a hoop so the dress wont sit on my feet anyway! Fingers x'd. I'll find out at my fitting :o)

Aww, i think like you i would opt for Hotel photog as i wouldnt want a guest feeling like they are working on our wedding day.... im sure he will get u some nice extra shots though :-)
I hate the script and an a bit worried about it really, When i have wedding date confirmed and i email WC i will ask her to see what she says ours is? fingers x'd x

Hmmmm... Never thought about that for the shoes!!! my dress is a long dress with no hoop etc so this may be a bad idea 4 me... hmmmm... i have my good old faithful wedges i bought anyway, but i just cant help looking for shoes.... ARGH!!!! xoxox

Plus, it's more expensive...I think an extra $600 at my resort for all the documentation. A license up here is around $50. Plus, it will be beneficial for us to get married before the end of tax year this year, as my FI will be making over the cap income which will put us in the next bracket. If we file taxes as a married couple next year, we'll save a lot of money.

We're not really going to count our "official" wedding day. We'll celebrate our anniversary on the day of our Mexican ceremony.
Thank you, Ive wondered why for months why a few of you opt to do that!! Now i can stop wondering :-) Makes complete sense though xox
Luckily were flying over and staying 2 weeks so we are fine with the 4 day thing and we dont have to worry about the translation either as thats included... its funny how things can vary so much country to country!!

:-) xox

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
