Any 2011 Brides out there?

Recommended Posts

Our wedding package with DRC includes a room for the groom the night before the wedding so I'll be shacking up with my bridesmaids the night before since we'll be all doing our appt's and such together the next day anyway :-) Our ceremony is at 3 but between everyones mani's/pedi's, hair and makeup - I don't think its going to be too hard to not see each other ... we'll probably be stuck in the spa from the a.m. anyway LoL

Yes we are going down the traditional route too :o).... I think it is much more romantic and i just get teary thinking of seeing FI standing waiting for me at the ceremony site! I will stay in our room with the kids the night before and FI will sleep in another room (dont know which yet, we can sort that out when we are there)... Then on the day i will have room service breakfast with Mum and sis and then like the others say. Am, we will all be in the salon and then back to my room to finish getting ready with my girlies. Bottle of bubbly waiting! The kids can spend time with daddy while i'm in the spa then they can come back to me when i'm done! I will have one of my bridesmaids to and throw to make sure i dont bump into FI. Oh i'm so excited even talking about it! Then that night hopefully mum will have the kids and the following evening we will have a meal on our own. I canny wait!!!!

As for planning. I have 13months to go. I have deposit paid on dress and got my shoes. Deposit paid on AHR. FI has his suit and ordered bridesmaids dresses. (not seen them in the flesh so they might not be any good but will let you know). We still have ALOT to do, Harrison & Scarletts outfits to get and the rings and my accessories etc, entertainment for AHR, invites, bridesmaid shoes etc etc......Oh and to actually book Mexico lol..

I dont think getting things done early is a bad thing. I'd rather have it all sorted out early and then relax and enjoy the run up to the wedding than be worrying about it nearer the time. I want everything bought and sorted out before xmas. Then after xmas it will just be my dress fitting! Then i have a few months to just enjoy knowing everything is done!

Our wedding package also includes an extra room for one of us 'the night before the wedding' - but our choice of hotel is a lot smaller than a lot of the hotels some of you are getting married at so we are bound to bump into each other at some point. We have said all the 'boys' will be together from 10 on one side of the hotel and all the 'girls' on the other side as it is split into 2 sides. We dont get married until 3 or 4pm either so chance are we will see each other.

Awww...you guys are making me re-think my decision to spend the night with my FI before we get married! I was planning on staying in the same room. I've slept beside him for the last two years of my life (almost three years by the time we get married) and I can't imagine being able to sleep very well without him there the night before...

...But now, thinking of the walk down the aisle being the first time I see him the day of sounds REALLY romantic...so I'll have to marinate on this one a bit wink.gif

I know how you feel re: sleeping separate the night before. I've been with FI now for 8yrs engaged for 6yrs!!! I will miss him but my plan is to ALL have a group meal the night before the wedding. (one or two, maybe a bottle of wine, hee hee) Then when i go off i will fall fast asleep (from the wine) and not miss him so much...? That's the plan anyway, lol.. I think it is very romantic to not see each before the ceremony (my personal opinion of course) It will build the excitement on the day for me :o)

FutureMrsRobart, Yay, fantastic news :-) Thats brilliant, How exciting x

cjb0arder13, I know what you mean, i was going to leave this to FI to decide as i wasnt sure but after reading everyones comments on here im definaltly gana make FI stay somewhere else.... Argh, i get butterflies thinking of it :-)

Its wierd really as (i will try to cut this short) When I met FI 9 years ago in July i lived in Warrington he in Annan (about 270 miles ish) and we then got engeged in the Nov (yes we were together 3 weeks and 1 month before we got Eng) and then we lived like this for 7 years!!! God knows how... In that time we saved for a deposit for a house and went on holidays etc, then 2008 we bought our house and have only been apart 3 nights since we moved in (1 was a work course, 1 night my Fi in hospital & 3rd i stayed at my mums) so after spending so so many nights away from him in our 1st 7 years i want to make the most of it, so i thnik thats why ive been debating (until now :-) ) im sure 1 more night wont harm us!!! and it is for the most special occassion so im sure i can do it :-)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
