You girlies going on a honeymoon are sooooooooooo lucky! It's costing quite a bit going to Mexico for 2wk's from the UK and then the AHR so we wont have a honeymoon. Plus we have children.....

I think we may book a long weekend away a few months after the wedding and get mum to stay with the kids, just so we have some time on our own. But we'll see what happens...

Linhy - I can't believe how much you have done! wow. I feel behind!

I have got my dress and booked the AHR and that's it! We need to book Mexico, wedding bands, bridesmaid dresses, shoes, groom outfit, invites, OOT bags.....lots to do, but i'm feeling quite relaxed about it but then i do have over a yr still to plan!
Michelle, Hope Scarlett is better? Awww, bless her! Poor wee mite xox
Im in the same boat as you as our honeymoon is part of our DW, we are planning to get married in our first week so we have the second week to honeymoon.... no way can we afford a seperate one, like you we hope to maybe get a way later in the year for a week or whatever... depends on what we can save :-)

Linhy... WOW, WOW, WOW..... You really are so so organised :-)
I still have everthing to do. The only thing i have done is make my invitations ready to send out!!! Saying that though, I do know most things i want etc so everything is kinda done in my head at least!!! But like Michelle, we have 14 months to go so im not panicking (YET!!)

You girls are so lucky to be able to book your rooms and still get the lower price then just book flights later in the year.... We cant do that here in the UK :-( We just have to wait, wait, wait!!!

Question.... OOT bags are you doing these as well as favours? or instead of?

Hey ladies,

are you guys paying for the wedding party's clothes? I wasnt planning on it- but heard we shouldhuh.gif I like Mexbrides idea of a gift card though- and I loveee JCrew!

We are just going to honeymoon the second week in mexico. Just going to switch resorts because many of our guests are staying the second week at the wedding resort. And our kids will stay with the grandparents at the first resort as well.

However, Napa Valley or Tahiti sound great!

Lindobride- did you already put deposits down on the estimated costhuh.gif Cause we did it on estimated cost but out travel agent said if prices come in higher we will only pay the estimate- which was $1440 before tax

It is cheaper to go through website, except if you are going to a ClubMED (because ClubMed website sux). Usually, the online experience is great as I don't have to talk an incompetent human being that does nothing more than an office plant does. The office plant still does better job, because it inhales CO2, exhale O2.
Of course, a lot people feels safer and more ensured when there is a human touch in the process.

Julie2011- As for wedding party clothes it's not necessary. You go base a upon on what you can afford. Weddings are expensive. If I still had a wedding party I would paid for everyone dresses but then they would need to get their own shoes or something. You don't have to pay for the entire thing you can pay half of give a giftcard. It's all entirely up to you. Hope this helps.

Nicyx- As for booking rooms and stuff I think in the next couple to few month you should be able too. I don't think flights are out for 14 month out just yet though. Yeah no need to freak out about anything. We still have other things in life to worry about as well. I'm so excited and looking forward to my trips that is coming up. It's nice when you have things all ready and layout to get it out of the way. Kind of sad that I am almost done. I'm sure I'll stick around and if anyone needs help with anything.

No, we put down a deposit --which was 25% of the wedding package price -- only to secure our wedding date. It did not include an estimate on rates.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
