Girl, I am so on the same page!!! Our prices right now are "rack rates", meaning they just came out and are super inflated. It's kind of freaking me out, because my TA "thinks" they'll go down, but there's no guarantee, and I can't ask my guests to pay $2200 each (with flight) to come to our wedding! I was hoping to stay more around $1500-$1700 with flight for 7 nights. So now I'm considering changing the resort, and losing my wedding deposit, unless prices go down. Sigh. I hate being stressed out this early in the game!

And I've should be going to my first dress shopping experience next sunday. I'm excited. I'm not planning on actually buying a dress just want to try some on to see how they fit. I did try on a dress that a friend of mine was considering selling to me but I had to do it at work and no one was around to critique me so I passed on it. (not to mention i'm 5'8 and she's 5'2)
Price for hotel and flight will go down when there are 3-5 months left to sell, if you book now, they know u really want it, so...you have to pay more.

LOL! forget it, if you are 5ft8, that 5ft2 dress will look too short on you!

Oh I feel for you both with regards to prices - i was lucky my price was fixed as soon as the brochures came out last year - guess thats one thing we have better here in the UK - we seem to bomb out on everything else on prices when I look at the bargains others get on here with OOT bags and favours. Without prying too much is it a lot more than you expected to the point you may have to change location?
With regards to the dress you were probably lucky there was no-one around i think those 6 inches would make a lot of difference on the dress front!!

And who was it who said planning a DW was easy! Have faith and it will all come good in the end. The prices will go down if people dont snap them up!

peterpanpixiedust, That is a fab idea about the Preversary date, I would be so up for this and will bring this up to FI, but he probably wont go for it!!! I will try though :-) Great thinking. Oh and by the way, I was trying to look at your website this morning but for some reason my computer was running really slow and it wouldnt open, so anyway i thought id closed it down and went to work. I got in this evening and FI said "did you leave that dreams cancun wedding website open on purpose?" I was like EHhuh.gif? didnt have a clue what he as on about then 5 min later i was like "oh yea, it was me" i told him why i left it open...

Anyway i can never get him much interested in weddingy stuff & he hasnt been bothered about our wedding website as he wants to see when its done, but he LOVED the look of yours, He says !well have you seen the website? its proper fancy, really good" :-) WOW.... Thank you as you have actually got him talking about wedding websites etc.....Thank you, Thank you, Thank you :-) Haha xoxo

Mischaka... Oh no!!! Thats my worse fear aswell to be honest... but like you say at least its going to happen :-) Positive thinking x

cjb0arder13... Flippin' eck, that a hugh difference in price! As i said above that is my worst fear... hopefully prices may come down so you dont have to change resorts... its a stress you just dont need... did your TA say how long usually before prices come down? As you dont really want to leave it too close to the wedding incsae of availability etc? xox

josietoms... I know what you mean there, with us being lucky (fingers x'd) with prices but not with OOT etc... ive been looking around for stuff for OTT but its working out to be very expensive, im just hoing i can find some good deals about, even if it means half full OOT bag!! Haha x

WOW this thread is over 1000 post already!!! :-)

Now that makes me feel really bad as I am getting married 2 days after you and have all these ideas in my head and jotted down on pads around our apartment but have I done anything other than chose my dress and buy the BM dresses and flip flops - NO!!!!! Think I better get a wriggle on! When you say 'planning' what have you done?

Hahahaha Thanks ladies!!

josietoms- don't feel bad at all. I just know exactly what I want and how I want it. I am just good envisioning things. hahah I think it helps sometimes when you know what you want and stick with it. It's easier to work with. Sometimes it's really hard because there's so many ideas out there and the decision makes it harder.

Since my theme is Eco friendly its a lot easier because I can make things and know what I can use that can be reused and recycle. A lot of time go green wedding are easy.

Now I can just move on with other things. Like traveling and working out. I already bought clothes for my honeymoon hahaha. I am excited for my upcoming trips that I can focus on.

I am done so far with planning:

1. Wedding dress

2. Invites (sent out)

3. Wedding shoes

4. Resort locked down and put done our deposit

5. photographer

4. I need to find a cocktail dress for friday evening and another one for

after the reception so after party.

5. need my dress altered soon but not until late summer because I already have my dress with me.

6. Jewelry

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
