Lindobride - I chose the group rate option because of the flexibility in days (some guests have said they're coming for 4 days, some 6, some 3, etc), the ability to fly from different airports, the security of having a room block (as I said before, I have a small hotel, this probably isn't a concern with the Iberostar!), and I also liked that they could book directly with the hotel. I think a package is cheaper, but I like the flexibility better. Also, there are great deals to be found on airfare, if people just track it and watch for the sales. Especially from Chicago, you can get very cheap, direct flights!

Looks like we are on the same page with out hotel bookings! I think the more people you start inviting to your wedding, the more you have to allow them to make their own travel arrangements since everyone has different schedules.

I found most of my lingerie on Frederick's of Hollywood site and a site I found called Lingerie Diva. I've done a lot of google searches and so far these have been the best sites, in my opinion. They have the most stuff when it comes to bright, fun, frilly stuff.

As far as the kids finding it someday, I'm not too worried! I had to find my share of embarrassing things from my parents! *cringe* Plus, I want to be able to look back at myself someday and be like, "See! I did have nice legs at one point in time!"

Julie,

The Grand Occidental at Cozumel is very nice with its private beach (the beach is not rocky and the sea isn't very wavy), and better than the Allegro next door.
As for restaurants, you will have much better price and choices on the Playa Del Carmen side, since Cozumel targets cruise folks, they usually charge more when the cruise ships are docking there.

I was thinking of doing boudoir pics for FI. He has everything and its really hard to surprise him, so I think this would make him happy and surprised.

Ha ha well for those of you worrying about turning 30 i'm going to be 33 in September!!! AARRRRGGGHH!! But i am young at heart. I will say i am 21 forever hee hee!......

As for the photos, my FI would not be expecting anything like that so it would be a nice surprise for him if i could build up the courage to do them. I wonder how much they would be?..... And as for the kids finding them. I'm not to worried. I'd be proud if i looked good in them, lol. I hope they airbrush, ha ha ha ha!

I think he will get me something but only because we've talked about wedding gifts. If i didn't mention he wouldn't have even known about them.... I suppose alot of men don't really know about the little things that go with a wedding! Well Dan doesn't anyway, lol

Michelle,

You are right about men and their knowledge on wedding details. My fiancé thinks he just have to buy a pair of shoes, a linen suit...and just show up. My friend who is getting married in July this year, her fiancé didn't get his suit yet..and has no clue what his buddies are going to wear.

Speaking of the groom and groomsmen attire, has anyone planned this yet? We are having our ceremony in church so our guys need to be more formal than a beach wedding.

Has anyone looked into renting tuxes in Mexico? Or how much it would cost to rent a tux from home and keep it for a week?

I need to start looking into this as soon as we get our BM dresses picked out.

I thought about getting a nice khaki suit and tie for my FI and then have the GM where just khaki dress pants, white dress shirt and matching ties. THoughts? I dont want to ask them to buy a whole suit.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
