Wow! You are so right. I told myself during my spring break from grad school, I'm going to get our website and STD's done. I also need to start getting the paperwork together. I'm nervous about the birth certificate, apostille stamp deal, so I want to do that as soon as possible. This site as helped me become more comfortable with the process, but I'm still a little nervous. Anyone else nervous about the paperwork?

Linhy - Planning, hhhmmmm well we can't book Mexico for another month or so, so at the mo I have my dress, whoop whoop and that's about it. Ha ha. We have one more place to visit for our AHR then we will book that. I'm not doing STD's so dont need to worry about that. I've been looking at hair styles. Anyone else thinking of their hair yet?? We need to look into rings etc too..... So much still to do! The main thing for me is booking the hotel but as that's out of my hands i am trying to be patient and wait :o(

I have also been looking up OOT bags and bits and bobs. Just anything wedding like really, hee hee

I've found some lovely tote bags to take. They have them for Bride, Maid of Honor, Mother of the bride etc so i'm getting them for everyone!

Just looking up wedding bits is keeping me busy for now.

CeeCee76 - My friend had her's apostiled last yr for her wedding and it was only valid for 8months before the wedding date. Just thought i'd mention. You don't want to get it done now and then it's run out before you go...... I dont know if the same applies for the US as the UK...?

I am just paronoid, i will check, check and double check everything me, lol

Julie2011... I went to double check with the TA today and as as i thought there is absolutly nothing they can do until the prices become avail at the end of april/may :-( You so lucky to be able do what you have done!!!!

Awww, thanks Michelle2011... I hope my sis can come too :-) I live in hope :-) Yeah were like you really, i'll be sending invitations, but really it is one of them.... if people want to come then were more than happy for them to come, so even if ppl tag on last min i wont mind.... were certainly asking in a casual way aswell, to keep the pressure off ppl feeling like they have to say yes but cant really afford it... we not getting ourselves into debt to get married so i definatly wouldnt expect anyne else to!!! x

FutureMrsYak.... Hey Im so pleased i sent my vibes in time!!!! Congratulations on getting your date confirmed and correct hopefully the few things wrong will be easy enough for you (or TA) to sort out. 10 months for you... wow... thats scary, and about the AHR. Oh my god, i dont even know what were doing with that!!! I think i'll thnk about that once weve got the wedding booked!!! :-) Kinda difficult for us as well as we dont really know what to do as my family live in England and my FI's family live in Scotland and its about 175 ish miles away from each other.... Argh, dont know what to do!!!!

It just goes to show how different it is in the U.S than the UK when it comes to booking things, you guys are so lucky to be able to book rooms and reserve dates or whatever else you can do ready for when actual cost becomes avail, we cant flippin' do anything :-(

Welcome back Mexbride83... thought id not seen you about!!! Good to have u back :-) sound like youve been a busy bee!!! Thats a fantastic idea what your doing with TTD... & i know what you mean with a thinking a DW wedding was stress free.... but thats not the case all the time!!! haha :-)

Linhy.... So glad you think you have your dress. Did you go back with your mum? how did you get on? so exciting!!!

Mischaka... im like you and have been window shopping for everything. just need to plan when to get what and where....

I wa asked a question at work today from a girl i work wth about having a "Hen Night" or "Bachelorette party" i think you ladies would call it in America? and this is yet another thing i have not yet thought about... i know we have ages yet but im scared im going to miss something and 2011 is going to be here before i know it and i wont have planned anything.... Are you lovely's doing anything? if so what are you doing? are you doing more than one thing?

Thanks ladies

Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun - adults only
Excellence Playa Mujeres - adults only
Paradisus Riviera Cancun - This is another one we seriously considered, and it's not 100% off the board. But I put it is our "4th choice", as we had to rate them for our TA. I love it and it's very similar to Dreams Riviera Cancun, both large hotels, chains, beautiful, etc. But like Nicola we used Tripadvisor to make our final decisions, and the reviews for Dreams are better than they are for Paradisus. So that's why we went with Dreams over it.

Raychel - I didn't hear about the beach renovation and I'm so jealous you are doing the chapel!! I love love love the pictures of it! And my family is Catholic so my parents really liked the idea of actually being in a church. But I sent my top 3 resorts to my bridesmaids (Ceiba del Mar, Dreams Riviera Cancun, and Playacar Palace) and they all voted for the first two because of the beach. My fiance is a diver and snorkeler so he liked the beach at Playacar better actually, haha. I cannot wait to see your pictures, the chapel ones and the walk to the resort all turn out so amazing.

Kurly - I have the opposite problem that you do. My fiance is a bit TOO into the resort selection, and every time I think we have our minds made up, he finds a new one that he thinks we need to "seriously consider". That's why we've looked at 9231578 and are going insane! But luckily the resort is the only part of the planning that he'll get to into, and that's because he loves to travel. So I can't complain too much:) That's cool you're a fellow Virginian! My brother's wife's family is all from Richmond too.

although i live in slc now, i just moved here and lived in va my whole life - cville, fairfax and va beach .... woot! woot! :)

Hey ladies!! Haven't posted in a couple days...been too busy stressing on my own! haha. I had a *minor* freak about prices...right now, prices are running about $1700 per person WITHOUT flight. Now, my TA said prices will go down a bit in spring/summer, so I'm hoping against all hope that they go down significantly! I was hoping to keep it under $1600 with flight for 7 nights, so we'll see if I can achieve that :)

We've got deposits down on our room, my mom/dad, sister/bro-in-law, brother/niece, so it's becoming real! woo hoo!

My invitations are almost finished, just have to put them together which I'm going to try to do this week to have out in the mail by this weekend. I'll post pics as soon as they're all put together!

Mbarnes - That's so funny... I was born in VA Beach (we left when I was 5 - Navy father), and went to middle and high school in Centreville! Stone Middle and Centreville High. I then lived in Arlington for 4 years after college. I am now in Alabama for grad school (because that is where my fiance is currently stationed with the Army).

Wow, you girls rock. My last post was a couple days ago and have quit a few posts to go through!

Mexibride, I'm technically done with classes but decided to take additional classes for a certificate program. I'm also in the process of writing my thesis. I can't wait to get done with my masters! My plan is to take next year off and hopefully start a Phd program in 2012 after we get married.

Prettypigpig, thanks again for the compliments on the ring. I love teaching, I don't think I will ever be completely removed from education. Are you thinking about teaching at a community college?

Linhy, Congrats on finding a dress! That is so exciting.

As far as the booking process, I think we are going to do the flight/land deals rather than a group rate b/c everyone will be arriving/departing on different days. Doing a group deal would make me crazy!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
