Any 2011 Brides out there?

Recommended Posts

OK I know it is still very early...but did anyone start to look for a good photographer and a good videographer? So far, I get the price of Cecilia Dumas and Elizabeth Medina. I will ask for Sascha Gluck too...but so far...they aren't cheap, but pics are so important! I feel like spurge a bit, but at the same time I wanna stay reasonable too. Elizabeth Medina said it is not to early to book for 2011, May and June are popular months!!

I don't think it's too early at all! In fact, I've had mine booked for a couple months now. Mainly because photos are very important to me and photographers seem to change their prices and package quite often so I wanted to be sure to lock in to them.

Well we have a close friend who happens to be a great photog. and as long as we pay for his hotel and flight then he'll take all the pics we need. which is AWESOME!!!!! *crosses fingers he'll still agree when the wedding comes* But if he doesn't I was going to look into booking Ivan Luckie.

So, I'm probably going to be alone on this one, but I HATE having my picture taken, and so does my FI. I think we're just going to stick with the photographer the resort offers (we can pick from two) and get the most basic package. I may change my mind, but honestly the pictures aren't as important to me as other things. I'm hoping family/friends take a lot of pictures on their own cameras, and that'll be good enough for me.

Raychel, Which one did u book? are u going to take a TTD session too?
I remember u have an excel file with all the price...but I need to get to JUNIOR in order to download it! So far Elizabeth is 2X the price of Cecilia, but she offers 2X of editing plus other things.

That is awesome! Hopefully that will work out for you, it would save you a bunch! Of course Ivan is great too (that's who I booked with!)

I ended up booking with Ivan Luckie and I am going to do a TTD (that's what I'm most excited for!). Elizabeth was by far one of the most expensive photogs I looked into, but she is fabulous and I think that she has been around long enough to where she can afford to charge that much. You are going about it exactly right, get a bunch of quotes and just compare and contrast the different features that each photog offers to see which one has more of the features you want. I know it's pretty time consuming, but I would get price sheets from a good handful of photogs before choosing

hmm...I guess it is not too early then. I would prefer more artsy style. I am an amateur photographer and I can photoshop too. Therefore, I am more picky on photo. My god brother is a pro photographer too, but he is also getting married in 2011 at Hong Kong, so he isn't sure if he can come. Therefore, I am looking at plan B now.

prettypigpig.... ITS NEVER TO EARLY!!!!! smile123.gif

& by the sounds of it your much more advanced than me in the finance department!! Haha...

Your STD's are fab, Like michelle im not having them but i totally agree with her your guest will love them, i would love to receive something like that :-)

As for photographers im with cjb0arder13 on this and using the hotel one. Not because i dont like having my photo taken (which i do hate) though but just simply because its just easier and like cjb0arder13 we will have friends and family there aswell who we will get pictures off. We absolutly want pictures of our big day, but 12/24 professional ones and the rest from others will be great for us :-)

Im not doing a TTD, although they look so much fun, we just havent got it in our budget... ARGH.... Flippin' budget!!!! haha :-) If we did i'd be right there with most of you, but i dont think id use my "actual" wedding dress though! but im not really sure how these work, but as i mentioned they look like so much fun.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
