I know I posted back when this thread first started, and I had said that we were getting married in Puerto Vallarta...but, well, we changed our minds and are now getting married in Puerto Morelos at Azul Beach! Our wedding day is 1/31/2011 (a Monday) so we'll probably head over the Thursday or Friday before, stay 7 nights at Azul Beach, then go to Cozumel for a week for our honeymoon.

To say I'm excited is an understatement! I'm so glad to be booked, and our wedding day is less than a year away. I know it's gonna flyyyyy by. Lots of decisions to be made still.

Oh! And I bought my dress in October, too...it just came in last week. I'm so in love with it. I want to lose at least another 20 pounds (though 30 would be better) but it's a corset back so I should be able to tie it up tighter if I reach my goal.

It is a beautiful dress! Perfect for a romantic destination wedding! Too bad I don't have enough of front asset to wear a dress like this. LOL
To lose weight, u can try to cut off the carb (no bread, pasta...ok..maybe some wild rice as a side dish to fill u up), one trick is to eat vege first at every meal...until u don't feel hungry anymore, then eat the proteins...if u still get rooms...fill in the carb (the key is don't eat until u feel full, otherwise u will overfed urself) and lower ur sodium intake (less water retention) a week before the wedding. GREEN TEA always helps! I was a fat chick before ( I meant fat for my own frame), and I lost 40 lbs and kept the same weight for more than 10 yrs.

hi girls, we are lucky because the family and friends that are coming are in love with the hotel we have chosen and although it will be expensive we did give lots of notice. We've been engaged for nearly 6yrs now and everybody knew from day one we were going to get married in Mexico. I say go with your heart and chose what is right for you! We are going to a family friendly resort and have children ourselves so an adults only was never an option for us. If i didn't have kids i probably would have chosen an adult only resort as they are gorgeous! But this is just my personal preference!

Nicyx - Errrm as prices arn't out i dont know if it will work out cheaper. I assume it will be the same. I dont know if Cosmos have a wedding department. If we book the holiday through T.Cook and they sort the wedding to then so be it but if they cant arrange the wedding we will go direct. I dont think it will reflect in price as the wedding package will be the same regardless of who books it. I just wanted to avoid the problems my friend had. All the hotel want to see is confirmation that you have booked rooms at the hotel to take your wedding booking seriously if you like. So if that comes from me or the TA i dont see a difference. When Jo booked with first choice they didnt transfer the funds till the last minute and she was worried while out there that the wedding would not go ahead. I want to aviod all this upset. I've only 'held' the date so i'll wait to see what the TA says when we can eventually book the holiday and let you know what she suggests. To be honest even if the TA does sort the wedding part i will still email the WC myself and attach our confirmation just to safe guard myself.

Sorry for rambling on! I do love a natter, hee hee.

Cjb0arder13 - what a lovely dress. So exciting.

I would love to loose some pounds too! My dress was a little tight on the hips but i'm hoping that was just added weight i put on over christmas... ha ha. I will try and lose some before the wedding! Well done Prettypigpig for keeping the weight off they say thats the hardest part!

Hey prettypigpig! Congrats on your wedding planning! That's a great idea to drink green tea week before the wedding. I'll def. keep that in mind. Yeah I need to lose weight FAST. But I do eat carbs though for energy during my lunch time. Like a lean turkey sandwich with whole wheat. I try to just eat veggies only or chicken and veggie for lunch it just doesn't do it. As long as you workout you can burn it fast especially with good carbs. I tell you I used to be a big person as well. And I lost around 40 pounds as well. Then I kind of somewhat gain it back putting on 30 pounds now trying to lose the rest by summer time. It sucks!!!! but it took me 5 years just recently put that back on.

Good luck to you! where are you having your wedding at? Mine is going to be on January 22, 2011. I really want to have it at the Dreams resort in rivera!

cjb0arder13 are you working out?? Do a lot of cardio like running. I try to run every morning. Make sure you eat like tons of veggies you can still do carbs but good carbs.

Drink tons of water. I am trying to lose 30 pounds too and my wedding is in January. So if I can do it you can do it. Workout at least 4 times a week or something.

Cj0arder13. O sweet your wedding is really close to mine! I'm on January 22.. haha you're is a week after mine. O yes you can totally lose 30 pounds by then. I'm trying to lose by summer because I got engagement pictures in Sept. Gotta look good for that aha. The dress I plan on getting as a corset back as well. Yeah if you lose or don't lose weight its really easy to adjust. But if you do lose your weight it'll look even more amazing on you know what I mean? Aww!! How exciting!!! love the dress btw! Gosh I didn't realized that brides are already getting their wedding dresses. I thought I was looking at it too soon. At least that's what my friends are saying.. but what do they know since they never been married or going through a wedding process haha.

I recieved my wedding contract today for Sun Palace, my date and time has been approved. Yeah! I just noticed on the contract that as long as we arrive by 3pm (check in) that day counts as the first day of arrival. That's good, now we can knock one day off our trip to save some cash.

Thanks Pretty. We basically picked this resort blindly having never been to the mayan side of mexico. We booked this resort based on reading trip advisor and BDW reviews and also speaking to our TA. We wanted to pick a beachfront 5* in the Mayan that we knew our family and friends could come with us. And we are happy with this resort. *fingers crossed* For our 2nd/honeymoon week, we are still looking at resorts. So many to choose from.....

xcited bride- you have made a good choice. Gran Bahia is beautiful and your family will love it. Why did you decide to go with the Tulum side? Im just curious- was is cheaper?

We are also looking somewhere else for our second week- My hubby to be would like to be in cozumel but im not so sure- kinda worried about if the ferry stops running due to weather and we cant get outta there.

Let me know what resort you end up with =)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
