Any 2011 Brides out there?

Recommended Posts

how many of you guys here are planning a scouting trip? I'm really thinking I want to see some of these places before I decide. Since I can fly out of DC it'd be pretty cheap to just go down there for a long weekend or something. Is anyone else doing this?

We're not doing one, only because of cost. I'm just relying on all the other girls on this forum who go down there and write reviews with photos. If it were cheaper for me I would DEFINITELY go!

Is frustrated!!! Should a resort be about concerning prices for the guest or where do you want to have the wedding at? I really want to stay at the dreams but don't know the prices yet. Prices in Dec. of 2010 is a great deal with air/hotel per person and night. But January is a different season.

To be honest we have gone with where WE want to get married and what WE can afford and are just hoping the people we invite can afford it too, and as selfish as this sounds i would rather it be just me n FI on our own if others couldnt afford it than have to settle for second best... after all its OUR day. Luckily we have guest coming who are ok with this but unfortuatly my sister cant afford to come and as much as it breaks my heart her not being there, we are getting married for us not anyone else. (we have talked about this and we have an understanding)

I hope this dosent make me sound like a horrible person because im not i just dont know how to word this any other way without sounding mean............

We are not doing a site visit for cost reasons. However, we have stayed at the resort right next door that shares a beach with where we will be married, so that helps ease our minds. Prices aren't out, but I don't care about price. I am not going to just choose the cheapest place for our wedding. Don't do it for affordability for everyone... do what works for you! It's the one time we can be "selfish" without being selfish because this is the one time it really is just about us. I know some people will not make it, seems FI's entire immediate family isn't even going to try. We gave them 18 months notice, so we don't feel bad. It's just the way it is.

My dress is a Private Label by G. Went to "play" with mom one day because we were by a shop and didn't have anything else to do. Found one I didn't want to take off. Knew I liked sweetheart neck but not strapless, did not want corset or anything poofy skirted.. and found the perfect one. Just wanna cut 1/2 that train off.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
