Riu Palace Tropical Bay Wedding Info

I'm trying to re-format my compy and I came across some of the docs I received from both the RIU head office and the WC at RPTB. Keep in mind they are priced for 2009, so prices have likely gone up. I though these may be helpful for some.

The wedding location pictures were sent to me by the RPTB WC -- She didn't specify which package was used for decorations. I would assume Royal or Caprice, because I had the Free package and our decorations/flowers for our arch weren't that elaborate.

The pictures of the 3 restaurants are the Buffet, Italian and Fusion. Not sure why there weren't pictures of the Steakhouse, because I would imagine most couples have their receptions there. The Steakhouse is open to air and overlooks the pool. There are some pics in my review -- link is in my siggy :)

Hope this helps some! Happy planning!

I only received menu's for the Steakhouse, Japanese and Italian restaurants so I've included those, as well as some of the info I received from the Riu corporate offices after I booked my date. Again, keep in mind that they sent me 2008 info, so some things have changed. If you aren't sure about something contact RPTB's WC. Enjoy!

thank you so much for sharing this. What did you girls think of Riu Tropical Bay? We are seriously looking into that resort... hoping to get married around November 2010... ANY advice??! What was the resort like? I am so nervous to plan something and bring a big group of people to a place I have never been!!! Just want this to be magical!!

Can you send me the pictures link? it's not working...

Grand Palladium - their communication is horrible, up to 4 weddings a day, and they have bad reviews from travel agents and vacation companies..no thanks. I think we've narrowed it down to Iberostar Rose Hall Suites, Grand Bahia, and RIU Tropical Bay...tough choices! None of them are cheap either...

We looked at Cancun, but with the violence going on, $250-$350 in bloodwork required, 3 days in the country before wedding day, etc... too much of a hassle.

Thoughts?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
