Can you tell me why you picked Dreams?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone! I noticed that the most common resort picked by all the brides-to-be on this site is Dreams (VillaMagna or Puerto Vallarta).

Can you tell me why you picked this resort over others? It's definitely on my list of potentials, but I'm still waiting for the prices for 2011 to come out so I can compare with other places (I'm getting married in January 2011)

Thanks in advance everyone. Happy planning!

I chose Dreams Puerto Aventuras! I knew I wanted to be on the east coast of Mexico, but Dreams PV came HIGHLY recommended to me by an old coworker/friend who was married there. She said EVERYTHING was just perfect. Dreams Cancun looks too much like "Star Trek" according to my fiance and mother, the same girl who recommended Dreams PV said do NOT get married at Dreams Tulum because the service, food, beach, etc just was nowhere near what she experienced at Dreams PV. Honestly, I've stayed at the Catalonia next door to Dreams Puerto Aventuras, I LOVE the area, the resort beach has good snorkeling, and the reviews have nothing bad to say.

My main deal with Dreams was that you don't have to wear the AI bracelet or make reservations for dinners at restaurants. The reservations were a BIG problem when we stayed in Mexico two other times. Good luck!

A couple of reasons why we knew we were going to pick a Dreams resort:

Past experiences -we have been to all of them except the newest one near Cancun, They allows children,

AI without wrist bands & great restaurants (without having to make reservations), An on-site wedding coordination,

and most importantly it's a great value.

We went with Dream PV-mainly because of the location (about 2-3 hour flight from southern CA) and the resort sits on a private beach.

Thanks everyone for all the great info!! You know, it's really hard to get a "feel" for a resort by just looking at the information online. We're saving all of our $ for the wedding/honeymoon, so we can't afford to take a scouting trip down there. I was starting to get a bit overwhelmed with making a decision, and all of your experience is helping a lot. Thanks!! :)

first, we were going to go for the cruise ship wedding. but after discussing with the family, we figured the cost didn't work given "bang for the buck".

then my sister mentioned the fantastic time that she had at Dreams PV.

with her raving recommendation we then did research, and really liked what we were reading on the net.

we had some time to get away, and decided to combine a short vacation with a little wedding recon.

needless to say, we totally fell in love with the resort.

food, amenities, food, the whole idea of AI, being secluded, spending a few hours with rebeca (the WC), and so much more made our decision to place a deposit before we left.

we we're not happy to leave.

and to actually be on the beach where we're going to get married, just sealed the deal!

After spending a 2 week vacation at Dreams PV last Nov. we were definitely set on having our wedding there this coming Nov. We go away every Nov. and knew we wanted to get married somewhere hot but had specific criteria regarding our wedding. We knew once we were there, that was the place. It has a private beach, no wrist bands required, great drinks (too strong at times!), a kids program, and fantastic food! The staff was awesome.

I have the wedding package info I can email you if you want to know more about the cost of things.

Thanks

Jenn

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
