It's going to look beautiful! How expensive is it to put in a new tile floor and have it installed? We bought a house with linoleum all over the first level and it's so ugly. It's also peeling up in the corners. I would love to replace it but the potential cost has kept me from even looking into it.

You can find some tile for $1 a sq foot. The one I picked out is $5.50 sq ft in the store & $3.50 online. I'll probably order from SouthCypress.com: Hardwood Floors, Ceramic Tile, Laminate Floors and Area Rugs at wholesale prices!

I'm first going to see if my local flooring company will match, because I'd rather buy from them. They were so helpful & let me check out samples.

Their install price is $5.50 a sq foot (going on to a concrete slab). If we didn't ahve the slab subfloor it would be $1 more.

I'm still meeting with more people for install estiamtes.

We have 1,036 sq feet. The cost of the tile (with a 10% excess) will be about $4,500. Install will be about $4,500-$5,500.

Grout will run about $175. We'll remove the old floor ourselves. Hopefully there are not many concrete cracks to repair. We are estimating around $9,300-$10,300.

A rough estimate would be $9 a sq foot installed.

You can get cheaper tile by buying ceramic. Porcelain is more durable & stain resistant.

I would love to see before and after pics when you are finished! Your house is going to look amazing! I was looking at your thread about bedroom colors before reading this thread. We painted a bedroom in a rental a very similar blue and I loved it.

I'll definitly post pictures. We were going to try to get this done in the next few weeks before my family comes to visit. We decided not to rush (we've both been so busy lately.) Now I think we'll just wait until we get our tax refund. That is inspiration for me to get the thing filed this weekend.
