My name is Jen and as of yet, my date and location are unknown.

I'm thinking late 2010 at an all-inclusive in Mexico, DR or Jamaica.

Any advice on a relatively inexpensive but nice resort? Thanks

Welcome Jen!

I think the best way to narrow down your choices is to look at the positives and negatives for each country (marriage requirements, overall costs, ease of travel to the location and whatever else is important to you) and narrow down to a country first. Check out the subforums on this board for the locations you're considering and you'll find a lot of reviews from past brides. Maybe check with a travel agent as well- I found that really helpful.

Hope this helps and good luck!

Hi Jen!!

I'm planning on doing a wedding in Mexico, Los Cabos. Out of all of the resorts we looked at, I fell in love with Dreams, they have incredible wedding packages and I feel you get the most bang for you buck. I printed out all of the resorts I liked and my fiance and I sat down and went over them all and ruled out the too expensive ones, the ones with the wedding packages we didn't like or that couldn't accomodate our # of guests.

Good luck and happy planning!!

Actually it's funny because I've been checking out Dreams Los Cabos recently. I went to Cabo for a wedding last year and stayed at the Riu Palace and it was nice but I'm looking for something a little more upscale (but still affordable).... hopefully that's possible!

Hi Jen, welcome to the forum and congrats on your upcoming wedding. If I might suggest, I think the first thing you should do is come up with a budget. Once you have that figured out you can contact one of our amazing travel agents on the forum, who can look at hotels and locations based on your budget. I' am sure you'll find a ton of helpful information on here that will also be of help. :-)

Welcome to the site and good luck. I think we have decided on Jamaica, fewer requirements (blood tests) and translation of documents to Spanish. Lots of resorts there, our fave hotel is the iberostar rose hall suites but we haven't booked yet, waiting for avail dates and school calendar for my niece.

Have fun planning.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
