Hey All

I am getting married at EDR November 25th, 2010.

I am very stumped on whether to have my wedding dinner at el cocotol.. Anyone have their wedding dinner there or spend the money for the private dinner on the beach or bar area.

Any suggestions would be most helpful.

Thanks

Hello!

I'm getting married at EDR on October 29th =) We are actually doing the free dinner as our welcome dinner the night before the wedding and then splurging a bit for our reception. I've seen in the forums that a lot of people do this (or reverse and have a private cocktail the night before and the free dinner the night after).

I'm working with Carolina Miranda and she actually just e-mailed me last week and told me that they were moving our free welcome dinner to El Tropical instead of Coctel - the food options are basically the same, so hopefully will be delicious =)

Hi Futurefontana21!

You're in luck! I've just started the brand-spanking-new Official EDR/EDCR Thread. It's still a work in progress, but I've begun posting resort info and basic wedding info today. EDR and EDCR are parts of the same resort. The difference is in the rooms/suites that are available in the Royale/Villas side vs. the Casitas side. The Casitas side has larger suites with outdoor showers (and as a result, Casitas are more expensive). Both EDR & EDCR share the wedding ceremony & reception sites. The service is top notch on both sides, you can't go wrong. Take a peek at the thread, and feel free to post any specific questions there, or PM me.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
