At first we considered Key West, but that involved either a very expensive flight to Key West or flying into Miami and driving 4+ hours all the way down the Keys. Our guests loved Islamorada because its still in the Keys but only a 1.5 hour drive from Miami and 2 hours from Ft. Lauderdale.

We ended up booking a private estate (2 beach houses) on the Atlantic side of Islamorada for 4 days. This estate provided lodging for 23 people and all of our events were at the estate. Our other guests stayed at a resort down the road called The Islander, which you might also want to add to your list of potential venues (also look into Pierre's restaurant, but I've heard they're on the the expensive side). If you're interested in booking a private beach house or estate, here are some links to real estate companies who manage properties in Islamorada.

Our caterer was by far our most helpful vendor - Florida Keys weddings & Islamorada wedding catering starts with Caribbean Catering. Debbie at Caribbean Catering can also help you with finding a location. For our wedding she handled SO MUCH - all of the rentals (tables chairs, etc), decor, set-up, coordination, and food.

Another local Islamorada vendor I loved was our florist, Floral Fantasy Weddings

Had I hired a local photographer, I would have absolutely booked Michelle Young (Endearing Studios Just another WordPress weblog). She is one of my favorite photographers and I often wish I'd coughed up the extra money to book her. She's worth it.

Hello Keysbride2013, I just have to let you know that I had chose Coconut Cove and our wedding, and there was only 4 of us to attend my now husband Brad, my daughter and her husband Dan. We bought their simple package and we were blown away at the quality we received. Paul and Magda are a husband and wife that own the resort. I feel like family to them and now choose every year to return for our anniversary. They offered for Paul to perform service as a minister or a notary, we chose minister. They actually gave us a questionnaire to find out what direction we would like even down to if we had a color scheme and how we wanted Paul to dress. I would love you to call me if you would like details so send me a response to my email with your phone number and I will be happy to call you back GVKARMA@aol.com. To continue on I'd like to say Magda at the end of our visit presented us with the most amazing pictures of our wedding on a CD. I totally have been telling all of my friends that Coconut Cove is the  #1 place to get married. BTW Room #10 was a perfect choice for us to stay in! Many Best wishes for you Hugs Ginamarie

@julikam-- I saw your post after randomly "googling" for Islamorada vendors.... I too am getting married at PostCard Inn--October 26, 2013!  I am slacking in the planning as well.  We are trying to keep it low key, but do want a really good photographer and DJ.  If you hear of any suggestions... please let me know.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
