Well...I am a late bloomer I am getting married next month and we just booked the actual trip this week....but I went there and talked to the wedding coordinator and mapped things out. She also told me that you could plan the wedding a month or even a week before...

for my resort, you can book your day over a year in advance, even before their rates are available. I'm pretty sure you have to wait until rates are out until you can book the actual stay, which is at about 10 mths to a year...

we started to plan about a year in advance....but the flights aren't out until 11 months in advance. So we started to plan, and figured out if our date was available, and as soon as flights were out we booked, just to make sure everything would work out as planned.

I think each resort may be different but you can book at year in advance at most of them. However, as someone already mentioned, the room rates and/or the airfare may not be available that far in advance.
