Im just wondering what you and your guests did after the reception since its only 3 hours?! our starts at 5:30 and will end at 8:30 but some of my guests will be under 18 so they cant go to the disco.

Hi Stephshaw26, have you been on the big Barcelo topic forum, its got tons of recent information in case you haven't been there you should definitely check it out, I think it may be called the Barcelo Palace but it is all in regards to the Barcelo and the packages there!

We had our reception on the beach start at 5:30 as well and this is what we did: Extended the reception by 3 hours (two initially and then when it was just 15 minutes left we extended it another hour because it was so much fun). The cost to extend the reception is $12 per person (drinking alcohol) per hour.

Our reception went in this order - first dance, then speeches and then dinner - The speeches and dinner could take up a good portion of your 3 hours, so perhaps consider extending your reception if even by just a little bit if you think your guests are going to be giving long speeches. We had two people under 18 (one 4 and one 15) so they obviously couldn't come to the disco but anyone who wanted to continue to party carried on to the disco as it was finally open when our beach reception was done. I would say only about half the guests went to the disco, anyway, the rest of them were pooped/had drank too much already and went home to bed.

I am too getting married in November of 2013!! I am looking into this resort and I have not heard from anyone yet but i know that the Grand Palladium has their WC run ragged and i will not be going there. We have kids from 1-17 age and i want to know if this will be functional for all ages? We also have a budget of $10 for us and $1500. per guest. Is this feasible?  We want a Mayan Ceremony non legal.

This resort is friendly for all ages with lots of things for kids to do, kids club and kids show at night with several very large kiddie play areas as well.

Not sure where you are coming from or for how long you would stay or what you want the price to include so if you provide more details it would be easier to say if this resort falls in your price range. We had our wedding Nov 28 2012 and were coming from Canada and our prices all inclusive for one week at the Colonial from Calgary was $1483, from Toronto $1385, and for the Palace from Calgary it was $1719 and from Toronto was  something in the $1600's. Then you also must add in the wedding package price, which there are some options to choose from.

Thanks for the post. I'm coming from Edmonton, most are. I found the Palladium WC not on the same page and one is rude the other is confused. I'm not picky I just wanted an answer. I don't want to go somewhere they feel they have to email me separately and they both say different things and dates!

It comes down to Barcelo and Iberostar. We have lots of kids coming so i want it to be fun for them as well.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
