wedding coordinator

Recommended Posts

I just had my wedding at the Hilton. We had 40 guests and Emeline worked out fine. We hired all of the vendors ourselves and from what I can tell from this forum, we did fine negotiating great prices. We hired a DJ, Guitarist, photographer/video and flowers. As long as you give Emeline a detailed list she makes sure everything comes together. I would save the money if I were you.

Personally, I don't think it's worth it. Obviously by reading all of the replies, we're all pretty torn one way or the other!

I'm expecting the same amout of guests, and don't really see a need to hire a wedding coordinator. For me, I think there'll be a certain satisfaction in knowing I was involved in so much of my wedding, same way as a DIY project! Not that people who use a WC aren't involved in their own weddings, but I want to be all in... researching is half the fun! Also, I don't plan on making my wedding incredibly elaborate, I'm not concerned about all of the little details, so that's another reason I don't see a need in hiring an outside WC.

I hired all my own vendors (except flowers and music) and I'm bringing most of my decorations. I wish my coordinator took a little more control with suggestions, but it's fun for me...

I really want her for day of. I don't want to hear all problems. All I want to hear is "oh, go ask Maye. She'll take care of that for you." Maybe I live in a dream world, but I like it here in my bubble. :)

It isn't necessary, but a luxury I was willing to pay.. expecially since hearing brides who felt a little lost and weren't sure how to get people places. I wanted to avoid as much confusion and questions as possible.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
