Help with Rehearsal/Welcome Dinner

Recommended Posts

Hi girls, my biggest issue right now is finding the "perfect" rehearsal dinner spot. I have read hundreds of reviews and looked up every restaurant you could imagine. I am stuck!!! Since I have not been to PV in 10 years, it is extremely hard to choose. I really want a breath taking view and of course great food. Has anyone heard or been to Vista Grill? I was considering Barcelona Tapas too. Any advice on this subject would be so much appreciated.

I just want to make it super special.

Thanks

Christin

Restaurants with good views - BT, El Panorama, El Palomar de Gonzales, Vista - all are good choices...although lately i have heard mixed review of BT.

I'm having mine in about 1.5 weeks at El Palomar - we reserved a terrace and the view is amazing. It is also very "true mexico" - lots of bougainvillas etc. very quaint. I will let you know how it goes!!

Barcelo tapas has great food and a great view overlooking downtown. However you have to climb 4 flights of stairs to get to the dining area and that view. We have older guests that won't be able to handle that climb.

We stayed a villa that was very near Vista Grill but it was closed when we were there due to the swine flu scare. This resturant is up in a rural area but does have a good view of all of PV. I am pretty sure they are owned by La Palapa. We ate at La Palapa and the food there was excellent.

Has anyone been to Epoca? We are thinking of doing a sunset cocktail/appetizer reception there.

We had ours at Si Senor= AWESOME! Food/service/ambiance was amazing. They brought in entertainers that just worked for tips: mariachi and tribal dancers. They also made guac at table, served these platters of food on metal ships that had flames coming out... very cool. It was family style so everyone got what they wanted. They brought out more at no cost as needed. VERY COOL!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
