Hi Sachaalb,

I understand your anxiety about planning a wedding on Isla. At first I was the same way but it has seemed to me that the island is much more laid back then we brides could ever be! But that's a good thing and it will help you relax when you are there. Someone that has helped me a ton has been Sabina Tamm at http://sundreamers.com/index.html she seems to do everything you could need and has great reviews. For me she has arranged: the ceremony, flowers, cake, and photography. She is super friendly and easy to work with. I can let you know after my wedding how everything turned out. I don't know about DJ since we hired a band and I am not sure about transporting 90 people from Privilege to Zama, Someone at Privilege may be able to help you. Have you been to Isla? Its great! I can't wait until Novemeber! If you need more info or have any more questions let me know!

Hi Shellbell9567 and Saschaalb,

Congrats to you both! Shellbell9567, I'd love to hear about your recent wedding!!  Saschaalb- I know what you mean about fast approaching- I am 81 days away!!!  It's so nice to see so many positive and pleasant remarks about Isla!!  I am getting married at Zama in February. I've been there before and absolutely love it!!!   Sabina Tamm is my minister, I didnt know she handled the planning of it as well.  I've reached out to her but I have a couple of questions for you two if you dont mind-

- Did either of you have anything at the Sunset Grill? We are having our celebratory dinner there (no wedding party so there isnt a rehearsal) the night before the wedding and I'm just wondering if you know about it.

- What did you do about golf cart rentals? I'm expecting about 80 people and am concerned that there wont be enough golf carts to go around.

-  Saschaalb- Did you find a DJ?

- Shellbell9567- what band did you hire?

- Do you have a florist to recommend? I've been in contact with Vanessa Jaimes also, just wondering if you have someone else.

- What about photography? My plan is to bring a photographer with me but I'd like to know about the experience you had with yours  and the quality of work?

- Did you have a videographer?

Any ideas or recommendations are much appreciated!!!

Hi Isla Brides!!  I am getting married in February 2012 at Zama and our guests are staying at Privilege Aluxes. We have Vanessa Jaimes as our florist and  Anne Marie Cote with Make me beautiful bride doing hair and makeup. Jonas has been more than reponsive with Zama, he is always very helpful and prompt. My fiance and I visited Zama in February 2010 and absolutely loved it.

Sachaalb- Congrats on your upcoming wedding!! Have you found a DJ? Did anyone answer you regarding reservation of golf carts? I am expecting close to 80 people and am sort of nervous about having enough for people to get around.  What photographer are you using?  We are having a celebratory dinner at the Sunset Grill in place of a rehearsal dinner becuase we arent having a wedding party. Felipe has been our contact there. I too am working with Sabina Tamm, she is very helpful and easy to work with.

Shellbell9567- Congrats on your wedding!! You might still be on your honeymoon. I just wanted to know what photographer you went with and what band you hired?  Do you have any recommedations regarding the golf cart rentals?

I'd appreciate and suggestions or recommendations you have!!

Thanks!

Mandy

Hi Ladies, Just got back yesterday from our honeymoon. Let me just tell you that you ladies are in for such a treat! Where do I even start? Isla was amazing and such a wonderful place to get married. Zama was incredible and the service was awesome. We had them do our centerpieces and the decorations. The food was awesome!

I had Sabina help me with all of the wedding planning including flowers for the ceremony and bouquets and such. They all turned out wonderful and her rates were really good. She is a wonderful person and so loving and calming (which is important). She also arranged our photographer Pamela Starr and our Videographer, both were fantastic. I havent gotten the video back but I have all my pictures and I absolutely love them. Feel free to take a look: http://www2.snapfish.com/snapfish/thumbnailshare/AlbumID=4252275023/a=1464537023_1464537023/otsc=SHR/otsi=SALBlink/COBRAND_NAME=snapfish/

The band we used was La Banda Sin Nombre from the island, they were Great! Also, Sabina has a great guitarist that can play during the ceremony and cocktail hour that we really loved having.

As for golf carts I dont really have much of a suggestion, we rented a house and also 3 golf carts for the week (about $300 each) but I am not sure what to do about renting them for your guests. I would think it would be best just to let them take care of that themselves. Most of our guest stayed at Villa Rolandi which was excellent and I would really recommend them if that is an option.

Anyway, it was our dream wedding and we were so happy that we opted for Isla and Zama instead of a large all-inclusive resort. Let me know if there are any more questions I can help you with.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
