Food for a small party

Hey everyone

Wonder if there is any locals who can help me.

I am getting married in June on Oahu. It is going to be a very small wedding, 10 guest MAX. Just trying to think of ways to feed my hungry family after the wedding ceremony. I think we'll probably go for a restuarant, but, to be a bit different I was looking at the Sunset Dinner Cruises?

Ill give you a bit about my background, my mum is from Hawaii and moved to England. We're going over this summer and want to get married. We go over as regualrly as we can, but would really appreciate some local knowledge.

I basically want to know if anyone has has a similar experience, or know about any really really good restuarants, or are there any dinner cruise that are any good and not just tourist traps.

Hi Caitlin,

I've been looking into something like that for a small dinner party too...don't know how these will help but

Star of Honolulu - they tend to do cruises for over 30 people, i don't know how willing they would be to accommodate less and they are also quite expensive even for the 3 star option

I have been looking into Tiki's Grill and Bar, its totally different and from reviews I have read of them they are really accommodating to requests.

You could also look into something in a hotel, I've looked at hiring the Rainbow patio at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, it isn't too expensive.

Have you also looked into having an outdoor luau?

Check out Willow's. It's a buffet and the food is very good, and the place is very pretty. It's more of a "locals" place as not many tourists find their way over there. We visit every time I'm there. They do weddings right there on site too so they can accomodate a small party with your own private area of tables if you wanted. Welcome to The Willows Restaurant

I highly recommend Germaine's Luau as an option, esp. for such a small party. It was 72/adult which includes the bus ride to & from our hotel, 3 drink tickets and of course your buffet dinner. The atmosphere was just soooooooooo warm & friendly, we were all made to feel like 'ohana' there. Not only do you get a buffet dinner but a beautiful, one of a kind show. There were about 7 buses, and each bus had 1 group leader... our leader was amazing!! he was so funny, and helped us all become friends with one another. i went with a group of 11 (our family) with a full bus, and we had our own table. it was unforgettable!!!

my reception dinner was actually at Tiki's (Food was DELICIOUS!!!!) but after going to Germaine's i wish we had it there instead w/ all the fun stuff included!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
