Need help planning Dominical wedding

Hi everybody,

New to the boards here and was hoping to get some advise. The GF and I are getting married in Dominical on January 15th 2011 and were hoping to get some suggestions on vendors from those who have done it before. Weâ€ve already booked our location so that part is done. Weâ€ve decided to rent a villa for the week and have the ceremony on the grassy knoll overlooking the water and a dinner out on the patio. Hereâ€s a picture set of the house for anyone who is interested. The main things we were looking for was someone to do the flowers and someone to cater the dinner. Iâ€ve had a hard time finding florists in the dominical area. If anyone has any suggestions Iâ€d be greatly appreciative. Weâ€ve also had a hard time finding a private chef or good catering company. Our group will only consist of 17 people including the bride and groom so it shouldnâ€t be that big an ordeal. Weâ€ll be having a large reception for 100 people upon our return to Los Angeles but are only taking our closest friends and family to CR. Iâ€m not sure if we want to use a coordinator or not. Since the only things we really neede coordinated are flowers and food, Iâ€m not sure if we want to pay the cost of a coordinator for just a few small things. Thanks for your help.

Hello there GroomB, good to hear you are an Angelino, two of our company members are from LA. Have you gotten in touch with Ana Montecinos? She is the wedding planner of Dominical area (ana.weddingplanner@gmail.com). She would have some advice on florists. Best bet would be to bring somebody from Quepos to cater your dinner. Try Marsha from El Gran Escape (El Gran Escape Restaurant great food!) or contact this person, Jerry Russo (jrumk@yahoo.com) for some help with this.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
