Barcelo Los Cabos

Recommended Posts

I had someone recommend Barcelo to me so I started looking into it again. I emailed Viloeta today to get some info. I understand she may be quite busy right now so I don't expect a quick reply. I will post whatever info I may receive.

It seems like a lot of the reviews so far mainly complain about service issues, but I would think by summer 2011 they should have a lot of the kinks worked out. I really love the resort grounds...FI really wants me to look into this resort as well.

Does anyone know of travel agents that have good rates for destination weddings at Barcelo. Orbitz seems to have the most inexpensive travel packages (incl flight), so my guests may want to book through orbitz, but I'm worried that I won't be able to get a wedding package if they do.

I'm not sure of any travel agents who work directly with Barcelo but it wouldn't hurt checking with the TA's on this site that specialize in Cabo (TammyHost) to see if maybe they have any relationships or have dealt with Barcelo.

if you don't mind me asking, are you already booked for your wedding at Barcelo? If so, are you planning on having a full reception? I looked at the packages that Violeta sent me and it seems like most do not offer a reception so I am just curious to see how much extra all the costs would be to have the full on reception/open bar, dinner etc.

Thanks in advanced.

I am booked to have our wedding at the Barcelo on Oct 13/10. The reception can be done on the beach or in the banquet hall. All of this is extra pp. Its seems to get quite pricy but Violetta is really good at helping me out. She has not done alot of weddings so she is still learning too I think. The resort looks beautiful and I like the fact that theres only 1 wedding a day there.

Hi ladies, I just got back from a week at this resort. I have previously stayed at the Barcelo Maya Tropical and the Barcelo Maya Palace. The Barcelo Los Cabos is definately smaller than the Mayan property but the quality of the rooms, food, and level of service was comparable to the Barcelo Maya Palace. We are fairly low maintenance people but we were constantly being asked if we wanted drinks or if we needed help. The beach is very different. You can not swim in the ocean at the Barcelo Los Cabos, but you can walk for miles in either direction.

The resort is absolutely beautiful and looks just like the pictures I've seen on the internet. Our room was fabulous with an ocean view (we were in the Premium club section but didn't pay any extra for that - I guess we just got lucky). The food was great. We ate at the Italian, Japanese, French and the steakhouse ala carte restaurants as well as the buffets and all were good.

This resort is within walking distance to San Jose del Cabo (25 mins by foot, $5 cab ride) and about 30 minutes by road to Cabo San Lucas.

I will say that if you are looking for a party atmosphere then there wasn't much of that happening there last week. There is not much night life on the the resort except for the piano bar has a lady singing a couple of nights a week. There is a nightclub across the street (Reds) but we didn't go there.

The firepits around the resort were terrific! There are some down on the beach and others closer to the lobby bars. They definately helped with getting to meet different people and keeping warm.

I did a fair amount of research before we left but I found the most helpful to be the facebook group set up with the name of the resort.

Hope that helps!

Hi Ladies!!

I just booked my wedding at the Barcelo Los Cabos for June 2011!!

The WC is absolutely amazing and the hotel will do anything your heart desires! They not only have wedding packages but also accommodate almost anything you want!

The hotel also has a very active Facebook group (Barceló Los Cabos Palace Deluxe | Facebook) that people write on everyday and the hotel is constantly posting and responding questions. We have also started a discussion board (Welcome to Facebook) there for any brides booking or thinking of booking since the hotel is so new and not many wedding have been there so far.

From what we have heard everything to date has been stunning. I will post one account that I found below for an evening wedding. Enjoy:

"I saw an evening wedding there during my stay and it looked AMAZING...so romantic on the beach. They had put strings of lights all around the palm trees, little candles in bags of sand lighting the perimeter of the section of the beach. Beautiful flowers on the tables. Nice music, they put a plank of wood down with a white covering for a dance floor. My problem with other weddings I have seen at other resorts is that they have been in the day and not really cut off from the rest of the resort so you could potentially have a lot of pictures with a lot of people in bathing suits. But as this was in the evening on the beach it was pretty much deserted. Oh..it was sooo beautiful...I might even consider it!"

Hey Ladies! Barcelo Los Cabos is one of the resorts I'm considering, although I'd really like to see some wedding pics first!! I don't believe the FB group had much posted of weddings at least. I'm so tempted to fly down there and visit all the resorts so I can skip the researching and get us booked!!

Hope to see some of your photos soon...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
