      Congratulations on your engagement!

We're doing the legal stuff @ home and doing a symbolic ceremony in Mexico.

I know where I want to get married, civil is legal in Mexico, Catholic is not. Maybe you already know that though.

Welcome to the forum Julie! We're actually doing the legal ceremony there because we only want one anniversary and it seems as if it goes pretty smoothly and there isn't anything to worry about when it comes to the validity of the Mexican marriage license being recognized here. Hopefully I'm under the correct impression.

So this is were I am confused. If I do a symbolic ceremony, its not considered legal in Canada? So I have to do a legal ceremony first before leaving..

I appreciate everybody help! I have recieved more responses and help from everybody on this forum then from anywhere else!
