Hilton Hawaiian Village Ocean Crystal Chapel

Hi everyone, my fiance and I have been trawling through the web trying to find some venue we really really like! I've finally found one, the ocean crystal chapel within the grounds of the Hilton Hawaiian Village, I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this venue, I'm a bit apprehensive about booking this, it is such a big resort and the chapel looks quite big from the pictures I've seen. I will probably be having a small wedding party, what with the fact we would be flying from Scotland!

If anyone also knows about any small places around this area where a reception for about 20 people could be held, you would really be helping! cheesy.gif, thanks!!

Congratulations and welcome to the forum. I've been to that Hilton several times and have seen the chapel, but have not actually been inside. It looks really pretty, but I do not recall it having a view of the ocean. Keep in mind that this property is huge and there are always a LOT of people there, especially at the pool and waiting to be seated at restaurants. Don't get me wrong - it's a very nice property - if you don't mind a lot of people.

Hmm, that's slightly what I have been worrying about, I don't want my wedding day ruined by having any uninvited spectators or anything!

Any thing I've seen to do with the chapel just looks so beautiful from the outside and any pictures I have seen have been amazing. I suppose I'll just have to weigh up all my options, it's not all as easy as I thought it was going to be!

I've also got to think of getting all my family and friends over...some are going to have a slightly tighter budget...I would hate not being able to have a DW, I've always seen myself getting married somewhere warm (definitely not in the UK then haha) with somewhere with sandy beaches for wedding photos.

I think my partner and I will be arranging a holiday out to Oahu shortly to have a wee scout around, I think we have also decided on our date being in May 2012 sometime!

Thanks for your help girls!

My Daughter is getting married at the Chapel in June 2011. We were there last year and saw it and made all the arrangements, will be going back this June to do some more planning. The Chapel is small inside! They said it can hold 75 people, but that is shoulder to shoulder in the pews and with people standing along the back and sides. We are coming from Texas and have about 75-100 coming so we will be squished! LOL, but we don't care...Heck, 17 of them will be standing up at the front anyway. It is gorgeous and literally looks like it should be in a fairytale it is so breathtaking inside. You can't go wrong.

We also reserved the rainbow suites for the reception, it is a grouping of 3 rooms actually, but you can rent just one for such a small group, it's about $150 per room. These rooms all look out over the lagoon and there is a patio at either end, so you could have cocktails or the bar set up out there and keep the beautiful doors open. Good luck with it all!

I had my wedding there in February... it was absolutely STUNNING, and all the ladies at Best Bridal Hawaii were SO WONDERFULLY AMAZING!! I cannot begin to explain just how accomodating they were. I'll post my pro pics so you can see how it looked!

They also offered to play the bells and have the guests standing at the stairs blowing bubbles as we walked down... it was beautiful! Yes there were some strangers OUTSIDE looking, but they were just really happy for us and everyone was congratulating us! They respected our privacy and did not stand around or get caught in the pictures.... It was a lovely experience and i am still elated about choosing them :) Take a look at our pics, hopefully that will convince u to go with them!! <3

PS. the rainbow suites were renovated since i last inquired about the room.... before the renovations, i didn't like how it looked so we didn't go with them. but after seeing the new place it looks AWESOME! and it overlooks the lagoon!!! Totally wish i couldve went with them especially if i had the #'s to meet their min. revenue req't. (we had about 30 guests)

If you're looking or a chapel overlooking the water, check out Turtle Bay Resort! The Pavilion is AMAZING. It's not very big, but it's all glass and is right on the water. We're actually having the reception in it because we wanted a beach wedding. But the resort is secluded and quiet and gorgeous!

Hey guys I just tied the knot at Ocean Crystal 3 months ago and wanted to share my experience. I remember when I was searching for venues, I couldn't find much on this place but it looked gorgeous from the few pix I did see, but seemed a bit pricey. Well, it did NOT disappoint. It was absolutely FABULOUS!!! I can't recommend it highly enough, except that the staff was a bit flaky but I guess it's to be expected when they deal with 3+ weddings a day. You have to make sure you are on top of things and don't let them forget any special requests or needs you may have. Other than that, the place is awesome! We didn't notice big crowds gathering when we were taking photos, so I wouldn't worry about that. We had the ceremony at 4 PM and had the ceremony onsite at the Hilton's Rainbow Tower Suites and Patio from 6 PM. Let me know if you have any questions!

Here are some pix and a video so you can see how great the location and venue is!

Here are the vendors we used in case you are looking for yours. We were on a tight budget but we ended up with some great deals from these guys:

Flowers - Watanabe

DJ - Music Express

Video/Photo - Fisheye Studio

Ceremony Photo - Best Bridal free package with La Vie

Food/Cake/Reception Hall - Hilton Hawaiian Village

Interpreter (Japanese/English) - Sharen Nakashima, Mic On

Thank you so much for posting!  Your pictures and video are beautiful!  My daughter is getting married there June 24th.  I am very interested in the company that did your video.  Was it expensive?  My daughter didn't want video, but she hasn't seen anything like this and I think it would be an awesome surprise for her.

Thanks for sharing!

Debbie

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
