Today I purchased my first 2" paper punch. I was very excited to find one since they've been sold out at Michaels since the beginning of December (and I've gone to two different Michaels - none of which are close to me)

Anyways, we found this template on Martha Stewart for "Do not disturb" type door signs so we figured we'd make these for the guests. I printed them and got them laminated today at Staples.

As of today we are offically two weeks away from Jamaica so I am trying to knock off as many items on my to do list as possible.

Anyways, came home, pulled out my paper punch, pulled out my "do not disturb" sign and the stupid thing doesn't fit. The template has 2" circles already drawn on it where I should be cutting, but of course...it doesn't fit.

Does anyone have any solutions? Laminating alone cost $20 bucks, i'd really rather not start this project again. My only solution was to recreate the template without the circle and print and laminate again - which would mean i'd have spent $40 on some "do not disturb" signs that people probably will not use.

I'm the worst DIY'er out there!

Here's a link to the signs:

OH NOOOO!!! I am so feeling your pain! I am not sure...is the printed circle smaller than the punch? Maybe it would just look like part of the design? I say dont bother re-doing it, just do your best, people will appreciate the work you put in.

Maybe I will see you at ror...I'll be there on the 28...COngrats and good luck with all the final details!

my suggestion would be to trim some length off from the top of the template, so that your punch can reach down far enough to cut through. I'm assuming you have a punch where you can flip it over and see exactly where your circles would line up. if you can mark where the end of your punch reaches vs the circle, and measure from the line you drew to the end of the predrawn circle, that should tell you how much you can shave off the top of the door hanger. I would use what I call "Chicken scissors" lol.. the ones that come with every set of steak knives. Those cut through everything! just make sure you mark a good, straight line.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
