I booked for 2/19/11 Got the dress, after some minor drama, booked the ceremony on La Barcaza as a surprise for our guests, booked the hotel and flight, bought the favor boxes, some fans because it is going to be hot, petals, grooms attire, bridesmaids dressed, groomsmen attire, need shoes too. Since the reception will be on La Barcaza we need not do the reception dinner. We chose the remeber package because it is a symbolic ceremony. It includes 20 ppl, but the hotel wants to still charge us $35 for every extra person attending the ceremony. Just for extra chairs, covers, and sashes. Easy money for them huh?

Is anyone providing transportation for their guests to the hotel from the airport? I got my quote today. The prices for the wedding and reception are outstanding. One thing I wanted to do for my guest is cover their transportation but I was quoted $44/pp for roundtrip. I think this is a little extreme?!?! Any suggestions?

Hey Ladies...here's a tip for the reception!  Tip the wait/bar staff and they'll let you stay later!  Our reception was to be from 6:30 - 10:30pm which went so fast!  My Dad tipped the guys (I think about $100) and we were able to keep partying till 12:30pm!  Helps to order the guys rounds of shots too! :)  Good luck with you planning...we had a super wedding there!

A lot of my guests got transportation in their packages, but we probably will rent a car to pick up and drop off the ones who don't.

When we did our research trip we rented a car. I was really inexpensive and we got so much out of it. Plus, parking is free everywhere we went.

Hi Everyone,

We're getting married on May 18th, 2011 and I was wondering if past brides were pleased with their reception at Piscis.  Seeing as it's a terrace, did anyone find that it either was too muggy or windy as it got later into the evening? I heard there are plenty of mosquitos at this resort. If so; were they bothersome during the reception? Also, was privacy an issue? From what I understand, this is not the one by the beach, correct? Lastly, we have about 25-30 guests, do you think this venue is too large?

It's getting so close and I am SO excited! Any feedback would help.

Thanks,

Rachel

Guys, just be careful about what you share on this site. I had a terrible experience with Arrecife, who looks like they have some type of agreement with the hotel.

Some lady named Jackie at Arrecife used the information I posted about my photographer against me.

They ruined my wedding memories because they assumed I hired a photographer and ended up coercing me to tell my best friend (who was giving me the wedding pictures as a present) to put his camera away. I have no pictures of the ceremony other than the ones included in the package because I refused to give them my money.

Turns out after I caught them lying (they said they know my friend was in Punta Cana for the third time taking wedding pictures. Not true) that they allowed him to use his camera in the hotel premises. That is when the ceremony was already over. So again, they snoop around this site looking for ways to use the information you post here so that they can get money.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
