Dollerama Finds

Recommended Posts

I bought red table runners, opaque chinese take out boxes (I made lanterns out of these using the flameless battery operated tealights) chinese fans, wine bottle covers and even a little budha statue at Dollarama! My FI is Chinese and we are going with that theme and the gold and red colour scheme for the dinner table decorations.

So far I bought my tote bags, tissues, lense cleaner wipes and hand sanitizer. I've been going in every so often to see if they have anything for my centerpieces and vases for the sand for the sand ceremony. Can't remember who mentioned it but I did find a website that sold the Umbra frames for the sand ceremony that shipped to Canada. I think it was just under $40 including shipping. I love it!

Dollarama rules. We pretty much got all our OOT stuff from here. The 4 pack axe effect is awesome. We also found great picture frames we will use for our tables.

There are some similar stuff here that is found at Michaels but literally 10x cheaper. Very happy to have discovered Dollerama!

I love Dollarama! I always find so much good stuff there. Recently they've raised their prices...many things are now $1.25-2.00 instead of $1 but still, a lot of the items are still a better deal than buying from say, Zellers or Wal-Mart where they would be like $3-4 each.

Make sure you also check out the hair and makeup section! I think especially for destination weddings, hair clips and elastics would be useful for the female guests. You can usually find 3-4 clips or 20-30 elastics in a pack. Also, nail files!

Hey ladies, I went by dollarama today and saw a few other OOT bag potentials:

1) Small bottles of hand sanitizer gel on carabiners (those climbing clips)

2) Wine glass tags (for cocktail hour or reception?)

3) Fuzzy micro-fleece socks (for the plane ride there/back)

4) Small wooden pail about the size of a bowl with mimi brush, mirror, and loofa!

I have been hitting dollarama at lunch and slowly stocking up on stuff. I bought the lense clean wipes (like wetnaps for your glasses). Love them, now have a box of my own at my desk to clean my glasses. Bet they'd be great for cameras that end up with a drink or two splashed on them. I also got self laminating sheets, 8 for $1, making luggage tags all night!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
