Hello, just got engaged xmas day and my fiancee and are starting to plan for Jamaica, Feb/March 2011! Trying to figure out where to start...how do you give guests a years notice so they can save without a price, since prices don't come out till late spring for the next year? Any advice is much appreciated!!

Welcome to the forum! We have the same problem because we are getting married in Cabo June 2011. Luckily we are working with a wedding coordinator there. She agreed that this can be a problem when estimating costs. However, she estimated cost (for every vendor and site fee, etc) based on the increases from previous years...i.e. just a guess, but an educated guess. If you're working with a wedding planner, I suggest asking them what their experience with annual cost increases have been. If not, I would imagine there is a wedding coordinator or someone else at the hotel who you can ask. Sometimes I've found they are afraid to commit to a number, but if you just let them know you are simply looking for an estimate and will not hold them to anything. Just be sure to let your guests know that these rates are not guaranteed into the next year. Good luck!

Congratulations on your Christmas engagement!!!

my suggestion would be to tell your guests when and where... and then give them an approximate cost. Then when it gets closer and real prices come out, send an update and booking instructions.

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!

      Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations.
