Hello Everyone!

I stumbled across this site yesterday when trying to decide on a hotel in Mexico for my destination wedding! I got engaged August 15, 2009 and I've changed my mind about where to get married atleast 5 times! No one even listens to me anymore! My original choice was a destination in Europe but being that it's so far I knew not too many people would make it! I tried to find places here in Georgia (I live in Atlanta) but my heart was at the beach! We then thought Destin, Fl. but that hasn't caught me either! I came across the RIU Palace Riviera Maya and I LOVE IT! So.... the dilemma now is choosing a date! For such a big trip I don't want it in October or later b/c of the holidays, but I have my heart set on a beach wedding so I don't want to go during peak hurricane time! Most everyone takes a summer vacation so I figured this could be it for them next year. Which month is better (as far as least amount of rain or chance of hurricane) in Playa del Carmen, June or July?? As soon as I figure that out I'll book it so I can't change my mind again! And so my friends and family can decide if they can come!

Thanks for any advice

Falan

When you say tough, do you mean heat or rain:)? I've always wanted to have a destination wedding, but the rain issue has been my worry!

Welcome to the forum!!!

I think June and July are pretty equal as far as hurrican season/heat/rain. So perhaps your best bet would be to contact the resort and see what days they have available, especially if getting married on a certain day (like Friday or Saturday) is important to you. Perhaps that will help you narrow down a date?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
