It was booked by someone but then they never answered the email that CONFIRMs your time. So the women in mexico emailed and put a call out to the bride and said if its not confirmed in 3 days they were going to release there time. Well they didnt comfirm and I was able to get the 2pm time. Better then 12 but not my 1st choice of 4pm. They then sent me a new confirmation #.

I emailed the main RIU office and they told me that if there are any cancellations, I can get a later time. Not that I want any brides to cancel their weddings, but I would be really excited to get it moved to later!

Bad news for me. I emailed RIU inquiring about my 8/8/08 date and it is truly all booked up!! I asked about a waiting list or filling a cancellation but she didnt acknowledge/mention it at all. I'm sad now. I spent all last night talking to my FI about the RIU, as I was truly sold on it. hissyfit.gif I thought I was doing myself a favor by trying to decide on a place at least 1 year in advance. Guess not.

well I'm sure 8/8/08 is a VERY popular date (just like this year's 7/7/07 brides) - you might have a tough time at a lot of resorts sad.gif

You could always have your weding off site. There is a company mentioned in some of the other posts that will coordinate an off-site wedding/reception. they looked really nice. My travel agent is trying to convince us to go to the RIU in Negril, he really loves it. He said he saw an awesome wedding at some little hotel called the caves.

Great idea. I didn't even think about that option. I could always just have my guests stay at the Riu. That may just work :~) Thanks!

Thanks in advance!
Lizz - if you don't mind me asking, how much did you book it for? Cuz my wedding is the day after you and we would proabaly fly out of Philly to. My TA quoted me $670!!! I told her to forget it, I would wait. then I looked online and I saw ones for like $350-700 and I wasn't even sure if that was a good price, but KNEW that $670 wasn't.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
