My TA used Air Jamaica and got the flight for $465, which includes taxes and transfers. I would go back to your TA and tell her what I got and see what she can do. If she can't do better, I would definitely shop around for another TA! $670 is WAY too much to pay.

Looks like we're all trying to throw money to Air Jamaica for the same wedding weekend! I booked a group rate directly through Air Jamaica and have seats reserved through 2 different cities for $348 and $317 respectively. (Those prices do NOT include the exorbitant taxes though! Those are just ticket prices only.

I know when we went to Jamaica last year with a group of our friends, we booked directly through Air Jamaica travel agents. I cant remember the total # of seats we had, but we got somewhere like 5% or more off the given ticket price since we had a group. You may want to try to contact them directly and see where you come out.

Carly - Has your TA found any cheaper flights for you yet? Keep us updated. Definitely don't settle for $670!

If its possible to fly out of Atlantic city instead of Philly you could get a flight on spiritair. We decided NOT to go with the group priced on spirit because it was 100.00 more then if we booked it online ourselves. We paid 313.00 round trip and that includes all tax's. There explanation why the group prices were so much more was because group fares do not need to be paid in full until 60 days before, so for that convinence it was an extra 100.00, so we just decided to book on there website.

I never even thought of AC...good idea! All of Mike's family lives in Jersey, so that may work out well if they decide to book it on their own. Thanks for the info!

Ya know, I haven't even asked her yet. She knew we weren't going to go for that amount, I figured that I would jsut book it when I found one better. Guess I should get on that, huh!

hey guys, I just noticed this was a thread. I just got back from Riu Ocho Rios and would strongly advise to take the beach bar over the disco for the reception. They really do it up well and the Beach Party alternates between friday and saturday nights (Right now its a saturday rotation) so if you're married on a friday you can get the beach bar and the beach for the reception. They really do it up beautifully complete with Tiki torches and a huge table for all the guests.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
