Unique situation, can anyone relate????

Recommended Posts

Hey Moon Palace brides! It's been quiet in here as of late... How's the planning coming along?? I've run into a roadblock censored.gif !!

We're having a hell of a time getting people to RSVP. Our problem is that we have a bit of a unique situation, where we have friends getting married in Playa del Carmen the same week we're getting married at MP. We planned things this way so all of our friends would be down in the area at the same time, and we wouldn't have to get them to shell out money to travel down there 2x next year. To avoid any issues, my FI and I (graciously IMO) told all of our friends that they shouldn't worry about picking who's hotel to stay at because no matter what we'll all meet for a group excursion and have fun down in Mexico, even if they miss our ceremony. Our friend's hotel is more reasonably priced as well as we were hoping for a smaller event.

The problem is that she's not doing a damn thing to reign in her RSVPs, and people are still hesitant about where they're staying or if they're even coming! I want to start getting my OOT bags more together, as well as send out pre-wedding brochures etc. to all my attendees!

Anyone run into anything like this at all?

If our friends are staying at her resort, but come to our ceremony do you think I should give them an OOT bag?

Thanks in advance, I'm going to post this as a separate thread also...!!!!!

I think given the choice, most people will likely opt to go to the more cost efficient resort and just visit your resort on the day of your wedding.

Perhaps if they don't plan on staying at your resort, they don't feel like they 'have' to rsvp? Maybe you should clarify that and ask for responses regardless which resort they plan to stay at.

Good luck!

I agree! I think you should only provide OOT bags for people staying at your resort, and let the other bride take care of her resort. Maybe you could plan on doing a small favour for the people who attend the wedding instead? Just an idea. Hope you have better luck getting numbers, with only three and a half months to go, they are hardly leaving you enough time! Good Luck!

I agree with what some of the other girls have said: the OOT bags will be other other brides responsibility for guests staying at her resort! For those you have, I would do up some bags for them; as well, have a small favor for those that go to the wedding (regardless of resort) as a thank you for coming to your ceremony!

It is getting tight to book, wow!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
