Why does it seem like there are so many brides from Pennsylvania picking Sandals and Beaches for their weddings?
We all need to get together and compare notes!

I'm from PA (York, right near you!), although not living there now. My parents stayed at a Sandals and loved it, thus influencing my decision.

I had been to a sandals previously & we chose beaches because we have family going with kids & since it is owned by the same company we are expecting the same service.

What Up, My PENNSYL-TUCKY HOME GIRLS!!!
(GREAT observation, Kelly... and by the way, we are SHARING A WEDDING DAY! Here's to both of our wedding dates, May 14, 2010! WOO-HOO!)
I also hail from scenic York, PA, as well (Dallastown, in particular) -- Kelly and Tifany probably know right where I am talking about -- and we chose Sandals/the Caribbean in general because it would be a far less expensive airfare to fly a few hours south down the east coast, than all the way across the country to Mexico or Hawaii!
Also, I love that everyone is familiar with the Sandals/Beaches name (no matter where you are from in the country) and I felt most comfortable with a larger company that has perfected the art of the Destination Wedding (as Sandals is considered to be one of the pioneers in popularizing DW over the past few years).
Plus the 65% off promotional rates don't hurt, either!

I am in PA too and getting married at Sandals in May. We chose Sandals Negril since there is a Beaches close to it for children.
Does anyone care to share the cost of their trip? I have been hearing ppl say that we are paying too much. We are staying 7 nights and paying $5,200 for our package which is the room, air and travel ins. We are staying in a honeymoon room with ocean view.

Jamaica0510:
I don't think that sounds too high.....our trip is a split stay @ Sandals Grande Ocho Rios (5/11 - 5/15 in a Honeymoon Concierge Penthouse Oceanfront Room, with our wedding taking place on 5/14) and a mini honeymoon @ Sandals Royal Caribbean in Montego Bay (May 5-15 - 5/18 in a Royal Honeymoon Beachfront Concierge Room). With insurance and round trip airfare, our total cost works out to be roughly $4800.00, and we booked our rooms in May of '09, so prices were a bit lower then.
And, maybe some of the people that are saying it's too high might not be staying at all-inclusives, so the cost of their room is much lower, but then they may not have considered all the extra money they will have to spend on food, drinks, etc. throughout their stay either. I'd rather pay the extra money up front then have to worry about all the headaches, personally!
Anyway, if I were you, I'd just be happy to have everything set, and just keep looking forward to our shared wedding month of May -- it'll be here in just over 3 short months! YIPPEE!

Hey all you central PA brides! My FI and I just put an offer in on a house in Harrisburg today (keep your fingers cross- it's a great house!)
We'd be willing to have everyone over in April after we get all moved in and the yucky kitchen painted (it's pink!). PM me with some dates that work for you.
And jamaica0510, you didn't pay too much for your trip. We paid $7200 for our airfair and a 12 day stay in Turks and Caicos. If you want, take a look and see what the prices are now. If they are cheaper, just cancel your reservation and book the trip again tomorrow with the cheaper price.

Thank you Kelly1214 and Islandbride317, that makes me feel better about it. And yes you are right, I like the idea of not having to worry about every expense while we are there. That is why we went with the all inclusive : ) We can just have fun!
