July 2010 Brides - How's the Planning Going?

Recommended Posts

WOW 3 weeks away before we leave for Jamaica. I am pretty much done with everything. Just have to finish our playlist and do my final dress fitting on July 10. And of course pack, but I won't start that until a week before we leave.

3 weeks from today will be my wedding day! I honestly don't know where the time went. I need to send my WC a long email summarizing all that we want with changes we made from our initial proposal. Plus, I will soon have to make final comfirmations with Photog, airport transfers, DJ Playlist etc. I'm trying to stay focused and not come up with any new ideas/projects.

I always watch bride shows and heard of horror stories of people waiting until the last minute to get major stuff done. It wasn't until this week that I ordered my hair flower, table numbers, seating chart. The vendors are so great that they got the stuff to me in days and I'm happy about that! I just found someone to create a beautiful seating chart poster. I tried to work on DIY escort cards and hated them. Glad I didn't wait until the end or I would have been stressing over it.

I would like to get as much done next week as possible so there's not too much of a frenzy at the end.

My bridal shower( or should I say Jack and Jill shower/bon voyage party) is tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing family and friends, especially those who won't be traveling with us for our wedding.

Good luck to the ladies who are getting married in the next few days!

By the way... we had our legal day two days ago. It was nice and simple with three witnesses.

Good luck to all my fellow July brides. Our wedding was yesterday, and it was wonderful! Everyone had a great time. I'm so glad I had a destination wedding. I couldn't imagine it any other way. My only complaint is that the week has gone by way too fast! We leave tomorrow for home. Good luck with your final planning!

Today was our legal day and we're officially married. I really tried my best to keep it casual but it's starting to set in. We had to exchange rings (my FI gave me my e-ring and I gave him a ring he normally wears on his right hand). Now we just have to finish packing, pick up the place cards, and my final dress fitting is Friday! We leave Sunday!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
