Hey ladies! I am trying to get our rehearsal dinner together. I am wondering what restaurant at the resort would be the best place to host the dinner. We will probably have about 25-30 guests. Any other suggestions regarding the rehearsal dinner would be very much appreciated!!!

um, to be honest we didn't want to pay an extra set up fee for the rehearsal dinner, so what we did is we had all our guests (about 35) all meet at El Patio. The servers put together one giant loooong table for us near the back and we did it there. It was actually perfect. Because El Patio was mostly buffet it was pretty easy to get food and talk etc.

We did ours non-private also - we just went to Portofino early (6pm) and got 3 tables of 8. It was a little different for us since there was the hurricane, so Portofino was the only restaurant open other than the indoor buffet, and it wasn't serving Italian food that night. But the food was delicious and we were on the patio so we were basically the only people back there. It was perfect.

I got married at Dreams PV and also did not pay for a private dinner. The WC reserved tables for us at the Mexican Fiesta night-time event and then we paid for a bonfire on the beach with a pinata, cake and smores afterwards. I had a blast and all of the guests loved the bonfire!

I had way too many people for a impromtu dinner (60 total) , So on Wed night we just met all our guests at 8pm at rondevous bar in the lobby, it was nice as people ate on thier own and just had a place to meat after.

Then on Thursday we did a private event on the beach ($29pp) and it was the best food we had of the whole trip ( carribean themed menu). People RAVED about it it was pretty awesome.

Thanks for all of the input ladies! Its good to know that everyone had such a great experience! I want to try and keep expenses as low as I can so the casual dinners at the resort sound perfect, however I may have to splurge and do the bonfire! That sounds great! Thanks again everyone!

  • 3 weeks later...

For my daughter's wedding at Dreams PV, we had a private dinner set up by one of the pools. It was really nice that we were separate for the crowds. They had it decorated nicely (Mexican theme). It was a buffet and we had our own bartender. Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
