Pash Problems ... WE'RE REORDERING PASH'S - anyone else interested?

Recommended Posts

Wow, I was not expecting it to be that much. I get things from the states all the time shipped to me and its not that much. Huh, I wonder why so much. Do you have a purlator? They usually do an over night for pretty cheap and the weight does not matter much. I don't know what to say, that is really pricey. That makes it more than double the original price no?

Maria, I live a 3 hour drive from NY state. We were there on the weekend, got back last night, so its not really close. Our bestman does live in Brooklyn, that might be the best bet if we can't make this a little cheaper. I know he is in India right now though.

I will see what I can find on line. What about just regular US mail? Any idea how much that is? If you don't rush it?

I don't know if I'd do postal service without requiring a signature on delivery. The reason I say that is because FI runs a call center that delivers using USPS and they constantly have a problem with tracking numbers. The postal service will assign a tracking number to the pallet of packages, not individual packages. So, people see a tracking number and when they call the post office to find out why it didn't deliver, the post office will see the pallet of items being delivered to the local post office, but that's as far as they can pinpoint it. His company winds up having to re-ship items for free all the time because of it....

Let me dig around and see what I can do for shipping options. Ann, can you PM me your address and that way I can pinpoint estimates more accurately. If I can't find a reliable company to ship for cheaper, then our next option would be to send them as close as we can to the border and then ship across. But let me see what I can do... I might be able to use a corporate shipping account with DHL or UPS and that might reduce the charges more...

Ann, I just put some info into DHL and I noticed an $85 shipping charge from my address to Julie's, but what I didn't notice until the very end was that it was pricing the $85 with a default transit time of 1 day. Which is overnight shipping.

I just went to FedEx website and did an estimate for ground shipping from my zip code to Julie's and it came back with 4 business days in transit for $19.65. The only condition I saw on this is that the package has to include a copy of the invoice in order to avoid delays with customs. All of the options for delivery by the end of this week were the higher charges.

The only thing is that if you ship from FedEx, it might be good to call your local FedEx station and find out what needs to be done to ship to Canada before you drop off at FedEx. Their website didn't have a ton of available information, but it did mention things like receipts for customs clearance, etc...

Maria, just an FYI, I got the pashs today...finally! I am so excited, they are so much nicer than I thought (I really kept thinking for $2.75 they were going to be crap!) but they are great!!!

I will double check your count, and we'll be able to scheduled a meet up.

By the way, the colors are great, I don't think anyone else ordered the silver/grey, but I did, and it's gorgeous. Just FYI, it's a great neutral w/o being white or ivory.

YAY!

Thanks Ann!

no problem, Jill!

Maria - that's good to know. I didn't spend a lot of time on that website, so I may have missed all of the details - I will definitely go to the store tomorrow. Like I said, UPS is across the street from me and the post office is like a mile away. We'll figure this out, girls!

I do not mind at all if it takes a week or even a few to get to me. If it will save me a lot, then I am all for it. I think Maria is right though, when I ship anything at work, its a lot more money to ship over night than it is to receive it in a few days.

I don't want to spend too much money, I would like it to be under $30 if possible. If its not possible, then I will talk to the best man and find out when he is back from India and we will ship it to him. He comes here all the time, he has an office in Toronto and one in NY. So, he can get Courtney's as well, if we go that route and I can get them to her from here somehow for a lot cheaper (I think). My next door neighbours all work for purolator, so I can have them ship it. That is of course if we can't get them directly from you for an okay price.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
