Fuzzy Hair issue

So, for the most part I'm very relaxed about our Feb. 4/10 wedding in Jamaica. My issue is my hair; it's longer, very fine and natural curly that when in humid areas basically turns to fuzz. (Remember Monica's hair in Friendshuh.gif).

Usually when we travell to humid areas I wear a headband and pony tail, pin back the bangs, or hat....Not sure what to do with my hair for the wedding as none of these options are what I'd really like to do.

Does anyone have ideas or suggestions for hair products that would basically act as glue for the wedding?

I have a somewhat similar situation. What is your hair like when you are at home and not in a tropical destination? Do you straighten it?

My hair sounds similar to yours except it's not super fine. So I just flat iron the crap out of it when I'm on vacations where it's humid and I use a straightening balm with silicone in it. The silicone seems to smooth the hair out and prevents the frizz. I'm thinking though that if you are getting your hair done for the wedding that they have solutions and ways to work around this. A hair trial might be a good idea to see how it holds up!

When I'm home I take turns letting it be curly - looks like spiral perm. (I can't have short hair if I don't want to look like a poodle)

I also straighten it and stays 'somewhat in control'. However, when in humid there seems to be no control. IE - we were at an indoor restraurant in Cuba, by the end of supper I had to pin back my bangs as they went fuzzy during the meal.

I too have very similar hair. Takes 2 hours to flat iron mine, so I do not do that very often and I know it would frizz anywhere that is humid!! I have straightened it, opened up the bathroom door after someone took a shower, and poof it was frizz city!! I have had several people do my hair for weddings...and honestly I can do it better because i know how to handle it...like do NOT try to brush or pick through my hair after it is dry!

I plan on having a few curls hang down in the front, sides, and back and then put the rest up...with the top of my hair having curls. Does that make sense? I will use the same product I always use...a gel/glaze mixture.

well I also have curly hair that frizzes in the humidity. I've been doing Keratin treatments for the past year and originally got it done 2 weeks before my sight visit to Cancun in April. The treatments are an investment but it's so worth it. It is NOT a relaxer. My hair still curls it just doesn't frizz and I can style it on half the time.

I use a combination of Paul Mitchell gel and glaze. I mix the two of them together. I do not like that when it dries it has the wet look so i always "crunch" that out. If that makes sense. I have a routine too, i put it in my hair, then let it air dry for 10-20 mins, then blow dry with difusser, then wet it a little where it is frizzy, then dry again.

Here is a picture of my hair in my first wedding (yes this is my second...i saved the best for last) Not the best picture as i took a picture of a picture, but it will give you an idea of what i am talking about. THe curls hanging down is what my hair looks like normally. Alhtough my hair is shorter now.

I have very curly hair, jus down past my shoulders... I do straighten it here in Canada, I have found it is pointless to try down south. for me I can feel that bloody curls creeping in minutes after I straigthen it. I use a product called CHI and it is great for straigtening and for curly styles... it leaves my hair soft without the frizz... My fav way to wear my hair while I am down south is a quick updo. washed hair my chi, and I pull it high in a ponytail at the top of my head with a band. I squeeze the hair towel dry at the top of the ponytail and I mousse the ponytail. It creates very formed curls at the top of my head that I arrange and pin with bobby pins. I love it because it is a 5 mintue style and very cool. Sometimes I will wear a headband aswell...Looks cute with a small flower too

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
