Iâ€ve been back…sorry for taking so so long!!! The wedding was “the best wedding ever†according to many of our guests. I want to thank all of BDW past and present members because without everyoneâ€s help the wedding of my dreams would have not happened. I did not do a planning thread because there were too many things to finish up before we left. I will try my best to capture every detail as best as possible if I miss something please feel free to ask me.

The Ceremony was held at Iglesia Maria Reina de la Paz. Father Gonzalo was very wonderful throughout the process. We paid $6,000.00 pesos and that included all of the church services and the flowers. The required paperwork for a religious ceremony is: bride and groomâ€s baptismal certificate and confirmation certificate, pre-cana completion letter, letter from local priest stating the completion of catholic marriage requirements and civil marriage certificate. The number is 322-209-1545

The Transportation----We used Superior Tours Vallarta index

info@superiortoursvallarta.com

We received wonderful service from them from start to finish. Payment was sent via paypal with no problems. They arrive on time to the hotel to pick everyone up and waited for us at church to drop us off.

The Flowers----I used the Riuâ€s vendor, which is Gloria Rodriguez from Concepto Floral.

Conceptofloral_@hotmail.com and her number is 322-121-2284

She was so wonderful to work with and the flower arrangements were beautiful. I wired her 50% deposit and she met up with me 2 days prior to the wedding to pay her the balance. She did all of our flower arrangements: brideâ€s bouquet, 5 bridesmaids bouquet, 5 groomsmen boutonnieres, 2 corsages, flower girl petals, 9 centerpieces, and cake flowers. Her prices and work are excellent!!

The Cake----I used the Riuâ€s baker for the cake. I was not going to have a cake because it was already too late but the Riu decided to bake the cake for and it was beautiful and delicious. It was a 3 layers vanilla cake made for 70 people. The decorating was done so nicely and it went well with the flowers. The only thing is that everyone completely forgot to cut the cake…lol. Its ok at least the photographer took pictures of it. The cake was put away in the fridge and the following day everyone came to our suite for cake and coffee. It worked out perfect.

Riu Palace Pacifico----We originally were booked at the Riu Vallarta but because it was closed for the whole month of October, we were upgraded, including all of our guests, to the Riu Palace Pacifico. When we first arrived for check in we asked the receptionist if we had the honeymoon suite. She stated that we didnâ€t. So I began to question her about since we were told we were going to have the suite. We did not get anywhere with her whatsoever so we just waited for the meeting we were going to have in few hours with the Riu manager. When we met with the manager Ernest, he was awesome. He said what ever you want is yours just let me know. He asked if we liked the honeymoon suite and we told him that it was not given to us. He immediately called and had our room changed. He brought in the chef and the captain who was going to take care of our wedding and he told them that whatever they want make it happen. I left so happy from that meeting. We ended up having the honeymoon suite for the whole week, a rehearsal dinner free of charge, appetizers added to our wedding dinner free of charge, a tequila shot station supplied by the hotel, a free wedding cake and the best captain ever. The service we received the wedding day was spectacular and we owe it all to Jose Bravo. He basically played the role of our wedding coordinator. He made sure that everything from the escort candles to the whole events of the wedding was happening on time. The wedding reception started at 6 and did not finish until about 3am!!! It was suppose to finish at 12. Even though we had the mariachi playing until 3 am we did not get any complaints whatsoever. It was a great time. Everyone says that it was the best wedding they had ever been too!

Our Photographer was Alfonso Lepe from Photo Vallarta - Wedding Photography - Puerto Vallarta, Sayulita & San Pancho. He was incredible to work with. He answered all of emails promptly and answered are phone calls as well. He has great prices and his photography style is great. We had 5 photographers the whole wedding day. We were supposed to get our pictures before we left but because there were so many pictures he sent us the links to our pictures. We have over 2000 pictures!!! They are so beautiful and he captured the moments just right. Here is his contact info I really do recommend for anyone to use him you wont regret it.

The Mariachi was the best mariachi I have ever heard they were perfect. We got them for a very very great price. Please use them instead of the outrageous prices that the resorts quote us. We got them for 1 hour for mass 3 to 4, 2 hours for dinner 6:30-8:30 and then we had them come back from 12am to 3am. We had a blast with them and the best part about it is that they knew everyone single song that the family requested. My family loves mariachi so is was well worth it. Here is there contact info and please let them know that Jessica and Junior gave you their info. If anyone needs me to call them for you because of the language barrier just let me know.

The Dj was Dj Scooby and he was amazing. I canâ€t thank him enough for everything that he did that night. Everyone was up and dancing the whole night. I found him on the internet and I was very skeptical on hiring him but after Junior talking to him several times over the phone we decided to hire him. We are really glad that we made the right decision. He brought an overhead projector, smoke machine, lights, ballons, pom poms, bubbles. It was a blast. We sent him pictures of ourselves and he compiled them into an amazing slideshow with music. We also wanted to remember our family members that had passed away so we sent him their pictures and he put them into a slideshow. Here is his information.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
